Actually, the name of the magazine has a typo in it. It should read "Dr Dobbs' Journal" (note the placement of the apostrophe). That's because the magazine is, and always has been, a front for the Church of the SubGenius, meant to lure people in by posing as programming magazine. It didn't work because they truly are sub-geniuses, and never put anything in the magazine that told you about Bob Dobbs. At least, I think that's the right explanation. If not, kill me.
