Also, we are forbidden by license agreements to redistribute some of the packages... that's controlled by the package authors. You can go to the FTP site and download the entire directory... it'll take a while, but it can be done. No real utility is required; just ftp to the server and do an mget *. Very few people need all 6000 packages, however. Please remember that our bandwidth is donated, and should be used wisely. Hope this helps! ==ml On Fri, Mar 15, 2002 at 08:08:14AM -0800, David Chu wrote: > hi -- > > i'm wondering if you can help me. i work for nokia networks and we've > been > using FreeBSD since release of 2.2.6. > > my question is, "is there a way to get all the packages or the entire > packaged directory" > from your site in anyway? or do i have to get the entire cd set. > > because when i downloaded the 4.5.iso images, some of the packages are > not there, but > their on your ftp site. > > is there a utility in freebsd to retrieve all or the entire package > directory? does the cd set > contains all the updated packages featured on your ftp site?? > > thanks for your help --- > > Content-Description: Card for David Chu -- Michael Lucas mwlucas@FreeBSD.org, mwlucas@BlackHelicopters.org my FreeBSD column: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/q/Big_Scary_Daemons http://www.blackhelicopters.org/~mwlucas/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
