Our server stays up for about 3 days and then just reboots. We've got a Dell PowerEdge with SCSI Drives with plenty of room. 1 GB of Memory and a huge swap which never gets touched. Seems like once we've run through all of the clean memory this happens more frequently. And the part that makes it even more frustrating is that it happens whenever it pleases. The server has withstood days with over 100 users at a time accessing the DB, but a 5 a.m. reboot with no clients happens often. We're currently running Freebsd 4.4, but we've had this same problem on Linux builds on different machines... So I don't think it would be a hardware issue. You wouldn't think a that a bad query would be able to reboot a box... At least I would hope not. Kernel has been modified from GENERIC with options NMBCLUSTERS=10240 options MAXDSIZ="(768*1024*1024)" options MAXSSIZ="(512*1024*1024)" options DFLDSIZ="(768*1024*1024)" maxusers 256 We hit the box from PHP using persistent connections from another server so the only thing we're running on the server is Mysql. When the server reboots, there is no log of a kernel panic... It just reboots... Any Ideas? Thanks, Kevin Copyright (c) 1992-2001 The FreeBSD Project.
