I've been looking for an inexpensive ATSC receiver that has freely
available datasheets and specs (i.e. datasheets that you don't have
to contact a company employee to get, since I've been having soo much
trouble with ATI).. and I haven't found one...

I've looked at the pcHDTV, besides being over priced, the CX23883 docs
aren't publicly available on Conexant's website, nor does www.pcHDTV.com
provide you with a download of the datasheets... You'd think that with
how much they want to support open source they'd provide these for d/l...

I've looked at DVico's FusionHDTV 5 Lite (which you can pick up for $99),
but even though they supposedly provided information to write a Linux
driver, when I asked them for the specs, all they did was direct me to
the Linux driver's web site and said come back if you have questions...
Well, I did have a simple question, which was for specs and datasheets,
if only they had answered it.. the site they pointed me to did not
have anything relating to the specs of the card... I did find a
datasheet sheet for the Fusion878 chip, but I couldn't find any specs
on the LG tuner and decoder module (plus the 878 spec sheet contained
no information on how to receive digital info over the video bus, which
they said was the same as analog)...

Sorry if I sound a bit sore, but I've been trying to find a card in the
$100-$150 range (I'd like two) for the last month or two that is open
enough to be able to write a driver for, and haven't found anything
yet... (Besides me being busy with other projects and work, which means
I haven't had that much time to put into looking for one)...

I'm willing to do most of the work to get a driver written for an ATSC
HDTV receiver card, the only requirement is that I have full and complete
specs and datasheets to the card and chips on that card (and of course
a card)...

Good luck...
