I just wanted to ask whether anyone has had chance to try FreeBSD/amd64 on the 2nd generation Opteron machine? I'm thinking about getting new hardware for our web server where the OS should be FreeBSD 6.2, preferrably amd64. Hardware notes mention only the 1st generation Opteron and Xeon Nocona, but list archives seem to indicate that Xeon 5000 based systems also work. So what about the Opteron? -- Toomas Aas
