I've followed the steps in the Handbook and Complete FreeBSD but to no avail. I can print text and postscript to /dev/lpt0 but the text duly sufferes from the "staircase" effect. I've then gone on to to set up lpr with the following printcap: lp|lj|ps|local line printer:\ :sh:\ :lp=/dev/lpt0:sd=/var/spool/output/lpd:if=/var/log/lpd-errs:\ :if=/usr/local/libexec/lpfilter: I've used both the shell script in the Handbook and the executable from Complete FreeBSD for the filter. I don't know if either of these work. When I send something to the printer the lights start aflashing and up comes "Processing Job", followed by "Data Recieved", unfortunately thats all. Nothing actually comes out of the printer. What's going wrong?? ideas? Many thanks Gavin ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
