For the 164LX it really only addresses how to update your AlphaBIOS firmware. The directions are *much* better at ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/archive/pc164lx/ You want ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/v6.0/alphapc164lx/lx164srm.rom Format a FAT (ms-dos) floppy, and copy lx164srm.rom onto it.
