There's another use-case: Someone wants to verify the integrity of an old email (in an archive) they've send. Even as we have the old keys still in the cvs-attic, not everyone knows about it or has easy access to it. If this needs to be in the handbook or not is somewhat an orthogonal issue to this, but as we do not have another location... maybe someone can change the doc-code to not display the keys for alumni (or replace them with a link to an online-source) while we still keep the keys around in the CVS tree?
