Had you installed 2.1.5 or later the solution would have been to give 1:wd(2,a)/kernel at the Boot: prompt. You can try this, but I think it won't work on 2.1.0. The best thing would be (IMHO) to install a newer version. If that's impossible, reinstall and put the root partition (which can be pretty small - ~30MB is more than enough) on the first hard disk.
