I am using netboot to boot in our labs. You need nothing in your DOS
box if you can build up a server FreeBSD with swapspace and root 
directory. You can boot FreeBSD from a floppy I have swap and /var in a 
dos file.

There is also dosboot, but nobody seems to know how to use it. Idea is 
that you have kernel in DOS filesystem and ... docs speak about kernel 
root partition (if I remember correct) Maybe it could also be used as 
netboot: swap and root in another node (NFS).
