It=B4s an old PCI/EISA PPro machine with an onboard adaptec7880 Chip (which is connect to the PCI Bus). Anyway, anytime, when I try to install FreeBSD it hangs at "Waiting 15sec. for SCSI Devices to settle". The previous part of the booting message is looking ok, as far as I can tell. This happens with 4.2 and 4.3, no matter wether I use Bootdisks or the CD Rom. Termination is ok (using external Terminators with no devices terminated) and I=B4ve changed the cables, both terminators, the Harddisk and the CD Rom, so defunct devices are rather unlikely the problem. ID=B4s are ok, of course. NetSD and Linux are booting without problems, but I definately would like Free on this machine. Also, the supplied diagnostics diskette from IBM did not unveal any SCSI Problems. Anyone any idea or similar experiences ? For Info, the machine only has two 68Pin connectors, the 50Pin is not available. For those who know this machine by chance, I am not having the RAID Adapter installed.
