Anyone interested in this, and interested in seeing how the ideas of open
source / free software takes hold in a field as yet unaccustomed to the
philosophical implications, may want to take a look at a current thread on
the bionet.software newsgroup which started out called "Unix vs Linux - the
movie" and has now morphed into "open source software for bioinformatics".
