We're using a 3200S in a Dell PowerEdge 4400 server, where it is plugged into a 2x4 hot-swappable backplane. When I installed it, I created a RAID using the BIOS tools and then installed FreeBSD 4.1.1-STABLE without a hitch. It's been running like a champ for about 6 weeks now. Check your disks, backplane, SCSI cables, connections, etc. very carefully. Try using fresh SCSI cables--factory defects can be invisible.
