I've got one of these cameras, and I think it's worth the $100 
compared to the alternatives.  The only significant downside is that
it's not as sensitive so you need to make sure you have the proper
lighting.  On the other hand, it is color and has a built-in microphone
as well so you get to reduce clutter.

It may also be worth buying an accessory wall-wart power supply.  The
camera comes with a cable which connects to the keyboard cable to
steal power to run the thing.
