The following devices are owned by uucp: tty[xyz]? uucp.wheel (should this be root.wheel like ttyd?) tun? uucp.dialer (what does this have to do with uucp?) ityo? uucp[.wheel] (is this like cuaa?) ityo is a new isdn device. If it is a tty then it should be named cuaa? or else cuaa? should be renamed to have something to do with their device driver (maybe sioo?). Other isdn devices have ownership root[.wheel]. ity0? conflicts with our naming scheme in two ways if it is a tty: its name doesn't start with tty, and its name ends with 2 digits. We also have to worry about the cyclades driver. It isn't supported in MAKEDEV yet. What should its devices be named? I would be messy to call everything ttyd* and cuaa* and merge the minor numbers of different devices. I'd prefer the prefix to be the driver name as for almost all non-tty devices. What depends on the prefix being `tty'? Bruce
