So I think questioners should be (gently) redirected to the questions group when they get an answer here, which would also serve as a reminder to other subscribers that this isn't the questions group. The documentation project itself would, I think, benefit from more comment and suggestions on proposed documentation to make it as good as possible before it gets posted, printed, burned, or whatever. The modem sounds like 9600 or 19200. I have included in rc.serial setting the baud for ttyd1, ttyld1 and ttyid1 to 57600 and the rc.serial file is read at boot. What.s the problem? It is a manual on configuring dialup access. After reading that, let us know if you still have problems or have any other questions. I'd hate to break something that works... General doc translation news: outside of a few minor glitches and aesthetic tweaks, generation of postscript via groff is to the level where (barring LOUD complaints) LaTeX support is no longer necessary and will be dropped. However, if there is a demand from the /vmunix.el fanatics, TeXinfo should be fairly trivial to add. Some reorganization of /usr/share/sgml will happen, a new program called instant (for manipulating SGML document "instances") will be brought in, and sgmlsasp and rast will be removed. -john == jfieber@indiana.edu =========================================== == http://fallout.campusview.indiana.edu/~jfieber ================ From owner-freebsd-doc Fri Aug 30 10:43:24 1996 Return-Path: owner-doc Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) id KAA07925 for doc-outgoing; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 10:43:24 -0700 (PDT) Received: from beethoven.orc.soton.ac.uk (root@beethoven.orc.soton.ac.uk [152.78.72.13]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) with SMTP id KAA07919 for ; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 10:43:17 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from root@localhost) by beethoven.orc.soton.ac.uk (8.6.11/8.6.9) id TAA00272; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 19:43:39 +0100 Date: Fri, 30 Aug 1996 19:43:39 +0100 Message-Id: <199608301843.TAA00272@beethoven.orc.soton.ac.uk> To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG X-URL: mailto:freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG X-Mailer: Lynx, Version 2-4-2 X-Personal_name: S Y Set From: sys@beethoven.orc.soton.ac.uk Subject: mailto:freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sender: owner-doc@FreeBSD.ORG X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk subscribe mailing list From owner-freebsd-doc Fri Aug 30 17:47:53 1996 Return-Path: owner-doc Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) id RAA10368 for doc-outgoing; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 17:47:53 -0700 (PDT) Received: from silvia.HIP.Berkeley.EDU (silvia.HIP.Berkeley.EDU [136.152.64.181]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) with ESMTP id RAA10360 for ; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 17:47:48 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from asami@localhost) by silvia.HIP.Berkeley.EDU (8.7.5/8.6.9) id RAA04752; Fri, 30 Aug 1996 17:46:02 -0700 (PDT) Date: Fri, 30 Aug 1996 17:46:02 -0700 (PDT) Message-Id: <199608310046.RAA04752@silvia.HIP.Berkeley.EDU> To: jfieber@indiana.edu CC: doc@FreeBSD.org In-reply-to: (message from John Fieber on Fri, 30 Aug 1996 08:54:39 -0500 (EST)) Subject: Re: Japanese handbook From: asami@FreeBSD.org (Satoshi Asami) Sender: owner-doc@FreeBSD.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk * Since I'm overhauling the sgml->whatever conversion process, * could I get my hands on this translation for testing?
