I see you made some improvements on what I did, but the number-to-name functionality does not work in i4b-dev-210898. I want to write another improvement. Question is, which base to work from ? - I'd prefer to extend my i4b-00.63-alpha-100798 based patch set, retro fitting your improvements & adding more of mine on on top. - But if there been a new developers release since i4b-dev-210898 (I'm not on the dev mail list, so don't know), then maybe .... ? When I then retry I don't get a TEI or whatever is involved. I have to reboot the machine. After that, I can dial out immediately. So I suspect there is some leak in buffers or something. Just one more question that I can't seem to handle. When I use the full screen mode I can nicely disconnect the current connection(s), but my BSD machine is a long way from the place I work. When I want to kill a connection from my workstation this is only possible by ifconfig down or (as suggested in the man pages) by kill -HUP , but every time I try the channel gets blocked somehow and after 2 such actions I have to restart the isdnd to get it working again. Isn't there a trick to close the connection with something like isdnd -hangup ?? Turn on heavy logging by "isdndebug -l1 -s0xffff and do a ping to a computer reachable via ISDN. If no output fills your console immediately, the IP subsystem didn't reach through the ISDN subsystem. If you run the latest version and have it configured with appropriate monitor rights, you can use isdnmonitor to close a connection. It has all the commands that are available in the fullscreen mode - and it even works from remote via a TCP/IP connection. It's user interface is - hmm - kind of crude, but works for me (until I finish the Win32 version my boss is going to use). A few Instant redials got the call through, most of the time. > Possibly the buffer queue allocated to the interface by the > IP subsystem is filled with undeliverable IP datagrams. Yes, this should solve the problem (worked for us). Btw.: same happened back in the bisdnd days. I think we should somehow arrange isdnd to flush outgoing interface queues when it gives up an outgoing call attempt. Is there a special ioctl for this, or should it SIOCSIFFLAGS to toggle IFF_UP down and back up? Seems logical that dialing would show what happens when you dial :) I can't say for sure; I have 0xf9 set for flags, so I see all kinds of stuff. AFAIK the isdnd debugging only shows what goes through the i4b layers. If you want to see all activity (this wasn't clear to me) then you'll prob- ably need to use the monitor program. --- Gary Jennejohn Home - garyj@muc.de Work - garyj@fkr.dec.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-isdn Fri Oct 16 05:15:02 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id FAA18347 for freebsd-isdn-outgoing; Fri, 16 Oct 1998 05:15:02 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from linteuto.teuto.de (linteuto.teuto.de [194.77.23.26]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id FAA18331 for ; Fri, 16 Oct 1998 05:14:58 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from martin@rumolt.teuto.de) Received: from rumolt.teuto.de (root@rumolt.teuto.de [194.77.23.161]) by linteuto.teuto.de (8.8.7/8.8.7) with ESMTP id OAA24338; Fri, 16 Oct 1998 14:14:34 +0200 Received: (from martin@localhost) by rumolt.teuto.de (8.8.8/8.8.7) id NAA02281; Fri, 16 Oct 1998 13:48:36 +0200 (MEST) From: Martin Husemann Message-Id: <199810161148.NAA02281@rumolt.teuto.de> Subject: Re: Billing? I'm going to extend this soon, as I'll need aditional monitor events myself (including detailed state changes of isppp interfaces [i.e.: establish->network] and general state changes of other interfaces).
