From a quick look, the quality seems to be much worse than even some usenet groups. If you think these would be helpful for people unable to subscribe the mailing lists and the newsgroups: one can read and post news via DejaNews, and send and receive mail by one of the many free email services. You are probably right. Although, there seems to be some useful content at Yahoo. Maybe promotion will attract more FreeBSD users into the forum and produce better quality. LINUX or Free BSD Linux bkoonce Apr 9 1998 1:31AM EDT Just look at the posts here. FreeBSD is rarely discussed. It also suffers from a distinct lack of documentation. Linux, on the other hand, has a lot of users who are willing to get involved, is liberally supported on the web and in print, and is available in a variety of configurations. -- Josh Gilliam 5333 E Los Arboles Ave 1 714 633 6499 Orange CA 92869-4216 USA From owner-freebsd-www Thu May 7 11:31:17 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from daemon@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id LAA03979 for www-outgoing; Thu, 7 May 1998 11:31:17 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-www) Received: from server (Torino14-240.tin.it [195.31.180.239]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id LAA03971; Thu, 7 May 1998 11:31:09 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from lucameyer@yahoo.com) Date: Thu, 7 May 1998 11:31:09 -0700 (PDT) From: lucameyer@yahoo.com Message-Id: <199805071831.LAA03971@hub.freebsd.org> Subject: On-line survey: I need your assistance To: undisclosed-recipients:; Sender: owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk ***************************************************************** DISCLAIMER: This is a one-time invitation to participate to an academic market research project.
