Hi Holm- I managed to get StarOffice-5.1 (english ...) up and going by following a mixture of http://www.serv.net/~mcglk/staroffice-install.html and copying applicat.rdb off of a linux box. 1) My box FreeBSD 3.3-Stable with linux-base-5.2 (pre release version ;) 2) I installed mine using /net option: me% su - root # cd so51inst/office51 # setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /tmp/sv001.tmp # ./setup /net went through the whole shooting match # cd /usr/local/Office51/bin (edit soffice as per instructions on webpage above) # mv Fun & More to Fun-and-More (as in webpage) # cp applicat.rdb applicat.rdb.bad # cp linuxapplicat.rdb applicat.rdb # exit me% set path = ($path /usr/local/Office51/bin) me% setup and then me% soffice Seems to work... it was failing complaining about the same problem before I made the changes to soffice script and putting in the linux applicat.rdb. Could the patch given be for English language ones? Any friends with linux boxes who are willing to share? Hope this helps.
