I have just tried on a -CURRENT as of yesterday (9th, that is) and got this with a fairly old floppy (I think it is a DOS install floppy): fonix# ls -l /floppy total 797 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 2399 Máj 31 1994 4201.CP_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 359 Máj 31 1994 4208.CP_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 260 Máj 31 1994 5202.CP_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 109 Máj 31 1994 720ID01.BAT -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 109 Máj 31 1994 720ID02.BAT -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 6421 Máj 31 1994 8514.VI_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 61 Máj 31 1994 ADOS.CFG -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 17911 Máj 31 1994 ADOS.CO_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 45289 Máj 31 1994 ADOS.OV_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 40535 Máj 31 1994 ADOS.TX_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7825 Máj 31 1994 AM.EXE -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12280 Máj 31 1994 AREADME.TX_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 4547 Máj 31 1994 ASSIGN.CO_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 22966 Máj 31 1994 BACKUP.EX_ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1617 Máj 31 1994 CGA.GR_ <...> I cannot see a problem here. (Permissions are right and upper case letters are maintained.) Maybe the problem is with Windows-generated floppies? Besides, I ususally use the 'mtools' package for that occasional floppy, because it does not require me to mount the floppy before using it. I do not know for the memory cards, because I do not have a digital camera:-) Just a data point... -- Regards: Szilveszter ADAM Szeged University Szeged Hungary To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
