E.g it uses a rc.conf that uses overrides over defaults/rc.conf. Indentation has been changed to match 4.x. Many "if"'s have been changed to "case"'s. Most is just copy-pasted from the normal FreeBSD rc scripts. It is about 4KB larger than existing PicoBSD rc scripts, but it also contains code for nat, dhcp and more which the current PicoBSD code does not. If the size is a problem, that could be removed. I have tested it and it appers to work has intented, but since so much have been changed there might be bugs, so I would very much like if someone would try it. Any comments are very welcome. The patch is 17KB so I won't post it here, but it's on my homepage, and if anyone prefer to get it by mail, i will be happy to send it. The patch is on http://simon.nitro.dk/patch/picobsd/ and is called 4xstyle.patch Simon To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Mon Jun 25 19:18:38 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from hotmail.com (f116.law11.hotmail.com [64.4.17.116]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9FB6A37B406 for ; Mon, 25 Jun 2001 19:18:35 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from part_lion@hotmail.com) Received: from mail pickup service by hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Mon, 25 Jun 2001 19:18:35 -0700 Received: from 64.242.6.171 by lw11fd.law11.hotmail.msn.com with HTTP; Tue, 26 Jun 2001 02:18:35 GMT X-Originating-IP: [64.242.6.171] From: "Joesh Juphland" To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Subject: flash disk in 2.5" HDD form factor ? needed... FreeBSD still supports running gzipped aout binaries. If I include links-0.95 web browser in my variant of "dialup" picobsd configuration, it takes 500K+. If I compile it with OBJFORMAT=aout and static, it takes 700K+ but when gzipped it is about 300K. Saving about 200K. It is a large number when working with 1.44M floppy. Perhaps, it is possible to build a.out crunched binary and have run it gzipped? If you need space at runtime, then just make a larger MFS image, which is compressed, so the extra (empty) space takes almost nothing. If you get "Out of space" errors, it means that even the compressed image is too large and then you have to drop something. Anyways, if you are on stable, i think you need /dev/vn* and not /dev/md* cheers luigi > Anyway, whatever I try to do with /dev/md1 I get "Device Not Configured" > error.
