If you apply the above fix, after the selection is made the name reads e.g. "bridge name bridge" instead of just "bridge". I'm building a fresh set of 4.5-STABLE images (for the refreshed website), and I also noticed the "bridge" build is broken, since it depends on a non-existent port picobsd/more. -- Andrzej // ---------------------------------------------------------------- // Andrzej Bialecki , Chief System Architect // WebGiro AB, Sweden (http://www.webgiro.com) // ---------------------------------------------------------------- // FreeBSD developer (http://www.freebsd.org) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Wed Feb 13 7:56:33 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from iguana.icir.org (iguana.icir.org [192.150.187.36]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A373837B402 for ; Wed, 13 Feb 2002 07:56:31 -0800 (PST) Received: (from rizzo@localhost) by iguana.icir.org (8.11.6/8.11.3) id g1DFuM048912; Wed, 13 Feb 2002 07:56:22 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from rizzo) Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2002 07:56:22 -0800 From: Luigi Rizzo To: Andrzej Bialecki Cc: small@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: 4.5R build problems Message-ID: <20020213075622.A48071@iguana.icir.org> References: <3C5E6460.2E15D49B@inode.at> <20020212181307.A44056@iguana.icir.org> <3C6A1D6A.48366F84@webgiro.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <3C6A1D6A.48366F84@webgiro.com> User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.23i Sender: owner-freebsd-small@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG On Wed, Feb 13, 2002 at 09:01:46AM +0100, Andrzej Bialecki wrote: > > I'm building a fresh set of 4.5-STABLE images (for the refreshed > website), and I also noticed the "bridge" build is broken, since it > depends on a non-existent port picobsd/more. yes... the correct one to use is misc/44bsd-more This also will get fixed when i get a chance to test the fix on both -current and -stable. There ought to be a way to make crunchgen do a "make" in the ports directories involved, but i haven't found a way. I think it would be simpler to create the appropriately named directories, with Makefiles in them, and point to them instead of the real ports. E.g. src/release/picobsd/ports/more: Makefile and then do the right thing in the Makefile, e.g.: ----- cut ----- PORTSRC=/usr/ports/misc/44bsd-more .VPATH: $(PORTSRC)/work/link depend: cd $(PORTSRC) && make # this is needed so you can avoid hardcoding # the minor version numbers for the quickly changing ports ln -s $(PORTSRC)/work/*more* $(PORTSRC)/work/link .include $(PORTSRC)/work/link/Makefile ------ cut ------ (I'm typing from my head, so this may be partly broken). I was toying with these ideas soe time ago, but then I moved across the puddle (the Baltic sea :), and my free time suddenly vanished... > > cheers > luigi -- Andrzej // ---------------------------------------------------------------- // Andrzej Bialecki , Chief System Architect // WebGiro AB, Sweden (http://www.webgiro.com) // ---------------------------------------------------------------- // FreeBSD developer (http://www.freebsd.org) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Thu Feb 14 6: 9:41 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from tao.org.uk (genius.tao.org.uk [212.135.162.51]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 223FE37B405; Thu, 14 Feb 2002 06:09:23 -0800 (PST) Received: by tao.org.uk (Postfix, from userid 100) id B2A042F6; Thu, 14 Feb 2002 14:09:21 +0000 (GMT) Date: Thu, 14 Feb 2002 14:09:21 +0000 From: Josef Karthauser To: freebsd-hackers@FreeBSD.ORG, freebsd-small@freebsd.org Subject: BSD in a rocket. I just looked at found one that uses a 486 DX-66 with up to 32 MB EDD RAM one compactflash socket and ethernet (CPC-2245-3200). It goes for about 280 Euro and the development board for another 190. You might also look at Soren Kristenson's net4501; it is a 486 DX100 equivalent (really an embedded 133 MHz AMD processor) with 64 MB ram, compact flash, compact PCI, three (!) ethernet, partial regular PCI, serial port (second serial is optional). All together US$192, quantity one. Check out his website, http://www.soekris.com/, for more information. I'm not associated with him, I'm just a happy customer. :-) -- Frank Mayhar frank@exit.com http://www.exit.com/ Exit Consulting http://www.gpsclock.com/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Sat Feb 16 16:48:27 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from mta04.onebox.com (mta04.onebox.com [64.68.77.147]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3969537B400 for ; Sat, 16 Feb 2002 16:48:22 -0800 (PST) Received: from onebox.com ([10.1.101.11]) by mta04.onebox.com (InterMail vM.4.01.03.23 201-229-121-123-20010418) with SMTP id <20020217004816.JCVG12575.mta04.onebox.com@onebox.com> for ; Sat, 16 Feb 2002 16:48:16 -0800 Received: from [64.171.27.175] by onebox.com with HTTP; Sat, 16 Feb 2002 16:48:16 -0800 Date: Sat, 16 Feb 2002 16:48:16 -0800 Subject: Re: FreeBSD and SBC's From: "gerry link" Cc: freebsd-small@FreeBSD.ORG Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit MIME-Version: 1.0 Message-Id: <20020217004816.JCVG12575.mta04.onebox.com@onebox.com> Sender: owner-freebsd-small@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. It works okay for the most part. However, there are a few other areas that seem to be over looked in the main_dialog(). The menu items F, M, and U(Floppy size, MFS bytes, UFS bytes) do not have the fixes for the ( ) replacements with { }. Also the menu items K and E(edit kernel, crunch.conf) when you exit the editor and save your changes it exits from the build script on error; rm: /tmp/reply.qRB9DcD3ae: No such file or directory The K and E menu items do not create the ${reply} temp file and therefore errors out when it gets to the "rm ${reply}" command. There is a "rm ${reply}" command in the beginning of the main_dialog(); I think the command needs the "rm -f ${reply}" option.
