"Yes, the token does indeed expire in some number of minutes; this is why we suggest people edit the information offline and then submit." Nowhere on http://www.freebsd.org/send-pr.html does it say anything about a timeout Skye From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Feb 24 13:25:10 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: www@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A985C16A420 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:25:10 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from w3l@bellsouth.net) Received: from imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net (imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net [205.152.59.66]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 077AE43D49 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:25:09 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from w3l@bellsouth.net) Received: from ibm59aec.bellsouth.net ([192.168.16.253]) by imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net with ESMTP id <20060224132509.LXZH29896.imf18aec.mail.bellsouth.net@ibm59aec.bellsouth.net> for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 08:25:09 -0500 Received: from mail.bellsouth.net ([192.168.16.253]) by ibm59aec.bellsouth.net with SMTP id <20060224132508.NFWD4015.ibm59aec.bellsouth.net@mail.bellsouth.net> for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 08:25:08 -0500 X-Mailer: Openwave WebEngine, version 2.8.16.1 (webedge20-101-1106-101-20040924) X-Originating-IP: [168.221.27.194] From: To: Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 8:25:08 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <20060224132508.NFWD4015.ibm59aec.bellsouth.net@mail.bellsouth.net> Cc: Subject: Problem with Kernel X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:25:10 -0000 I know this is not the best e-mail address to direct my question to. I have some diffs for that, but ceri haven't had time yet to check them. We still probably lack some inforomation how to take the .scr screenshots. You will not see that screen when booting FreeBSD 5.0 (IIRC) and later as well as the kernel config section of that guide, since that's only 4.x too. 5.0 and later uses device.hints for this. > PS: I understand if you guys don't answer . in this case could you provide with and e-mail address -- Sincerely, Daniel Gerzo From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Feb 24 18:43:41 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-www@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-www@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D875D16A420 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 18:43:41 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from rague@doobee.com) Received: from doobee.com (244.red-82-158-4.user.auna.net [82.158.4.244]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 1FD3543D46 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 18:43:40 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from rague@doobee.com) Message-ID: <000001c63972$156603e0$09a1a8c0@tidbit> From: "Raguel Vancleave" To: freebsd-www@hub.freebsd.org Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:42:37 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1106 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1106 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: Re: news punc tated X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Raguel Vancleave List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 18:43:42 -0000 Hi, http://www.melistair.com =20 VtIsAeGnRmAm a$o3c,i7o5r VzAhLmlxUzMy y$c1w,y2a1r CqIvAqLoIxSi j$l3q,l3m3p From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Feb 24 21:20:06 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: www@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C7F2A16A420 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 21:20:06 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ceri@submonkey.net) Received: from shrike.submonkey.net (cpc2-cdif2-0-0-cust107.cdif.cable.ntl.com [81.104.168.108]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 719B643D46 for ; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 21:20:06 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ceri@submonkey.net) Received: from fenrirw.private.submonkey.net ([192.168.10.23]) by shrike.submonkey.net with esmtpsa (TLSv1:DES-CBC3-SHA:168) (Exim 4.60 (FreeBSD)) (envelope-from ) id 1FCkM5-000L42-2o for www@FreeBSD.org; Fri, 24 Feb 2006 21:20:05 +0000 User-Agent: Microsoft-Entourage/11.2.0.050811 Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 21:19:59 +0000 From: Ceri Davies To: Message-ID: Thread-Topic: Turning tidy off Thread-Index: AcY5iBD9T7aU4KV7EdqVBgAUUSJIlg== Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Cc: Subject: Turning tidy off X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 21:20:06 -0000 I'm really fed up of the blank spaces in the textarea fields at http://www.FreeBSD.org/send-pr.html. Well, I made my screenshots using QEMU, they are pretty fine, but using .scr you can take the exact shot of the tty using vidcontrol and then convert it to PNG using graphics/scr2png port. With .scr it is even possible to convert it to text using textproc/scr2txt port, which is useful for such cases when people don't use graphic browsers. Also, when I took my screenshots using QEMU, I wasn't able to resize them to the resolution currently used in Handbook, so they would not fit nice there. And as the third argument is that I had a feeling that my shots had a bit different colors ;-) > Fabian -- Sincerely, Daniel Gerzo From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Feb 25 14:03:15 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: www@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E070816A420 for ; Sat, 25 Feb 2006 14:03:15 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd-listen@fabiankeil.de) Received: from smtprelay03.ispgateway.de (smtprelay03.ispgateway.de [80.67.18.15]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1855143D46 for ; Sat, 25 Feb 2006 14:03:14 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd-listen@fabiankeil.de) Received: (qmail 20291 invoked from network); 25 Feb 2006 14:03:13 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO localhost) ([pbs]775067@[217.50.146.121]) (envelope-sender ) by smtprelay03.ispgateway.de (qmail-ldap-1.03) with SMTP for ; 25 Feb 2006 14:03:13 -0000 Date: Sat, 25 Feb 2006 15:03:20 +0100 From: Fabian Keil To: Daniel Gerzo Message-ID: <20060225150320.57ef4fe6@localhost> In-Reply-To: <339157875.20060225143907@rulez.sk> References: <20060224132508.NFWD4015.ibm59aec.bellsouth.net@mail.bellsouth.net> <1152099605.20060224143857@rulez.sk> <20060225141409.7175226d@localhost> <339157875.20060225143907@rulez.sk> X-Mailer: Sylpheed-Claws 2.0.0 (GTK+ 2.8.6; i386-portbld-freebsd6.0) X-PGP-KEY-URL: http://www.fabiankeil.de/gpg-keys/freebsd-listen-2006-08-19.asc Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary=Sig_ZH8HHtBn7FtoNA2TrpIPj4q; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=PGP-SHA1 Cc: www@freebsd.org Subject: .src screenshots (was: Problem with Kernel) X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 25 Feb 2006 14:03:16 -0000 --Sig_ZH8HHtBn7FtoNA2TrpIPj4q Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Daniel Gerzo wrote: =20 > Saturday, February 25, 2006, 2:14:09 PM, you wrote: > > > I don't know what .scr is or why/if it is required, but the screen > > shot above appears to be usual png which should be achievable by > > using QEMU. >=20 > Well, I made my screenshots using QEMU, they are pretty fine, but > using .scr you can take the exact shot of the tty using vidcontrol > and then convert it to PNG using graphics/scr2png port. Thanks for the description, I see now that .src has real advantages. Is the src2txt output already used somewhere in the handbook? I'd really like to see the implementation.
