Could you please visit http://people.freebsd.org/~fenner/portsurvey/freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org.html and correct the problems listed there? The individual port with a problem is x11-toolkits/linux-openmotif. If you have already corrected the problems and submitted a PR, please accept my thanks and apologies for the delay in getting the fixes into the tree. This reminder is created automatically and does not (yet) have a way to know if a PR fixing the problem has been submitted. Please do *NOT* send your response to me directly; I do not necessarily have time to commit your fix; please instead submit a PR via 'send-pr' so it doesn't get lost. Problems are usually of two types: 1. The software package has been upgraded and the version in the port has been removed. The best solution to this problem is to upgrade the port to the most current version of the software package. If you are a FreeBSD committer, then you can just upgrade the port directly. If not, you should create the updated port on your own machine, test it (and maybe even run "portlint" on it), and then use "send-pr" to submit a "diff -uNr old-port updated-port". If you added or deleted any files, please make an explicit note of it. 2. The mirror site being used no longer contains the software package in question, or no longer exists. Solutions include: a) If there are other mirror sites, just remove the bad site from the list. (Make sure that what appears to be a bad site isn't actually a problem of type 1, upgrade) b) If the README or other support files in the software documentation mention where to get the software package, use one of those sites. c) Use a search engine to find another place to get the original DISTFILES. Make sure that you don't pick a FreeBSD distfiles mirror -- if you can't find any other places where the file exists, it can be a LOCAL_PORT or you can simply comment out the MASTER_SITES= line, with a comment explaining why. Once you have a solution, use "send-pr" to submit a "diff -u" of the Makefile. Note that this isn't an urgent issue, as people who try to build the port now will just fall back to the FreeBSD distfiles mirror. Please just put it on your list to do and get to it when you have time. These messages will continue to arrive twice a month until the fix is committed, as a reminder. Thanks, Bill "distfiles" Fenner. I assume it will mess up the =20 contents of the cache file for the FreeBSD fontconfig. Boris, your patch looks good in principle, but I prefer to create the =20 fonts.conf on the fly (REINPLACE s:/usr/X11R6:${X11BASE}:g) instead of =20 hardcoding it (except portmgr/pav tells us that X11BASE goes away, =20 then it should be LOCALBASE). See =20 http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=3Dports/110632 for more (as =20 we got the info that the new fontconfig is not compatible, and as I =20 didn't found a matching fontconfig version back then, we have to go =20 the way as proposed in the PR). Maybe we should also not install (=3D =20 remove) the linux fc-cache program. Pav, do we (or better: has bsam) portmgr approval to fix linux-fontconfig? I don't know which issue linux-opera has. Are there error messages? =20 Are all fonts installed (I think I did read something that this =20 changed with the modular packaging)? Bye, Alexander. --=20 Mandrell: "You know what I think?" Yes, please commit. I wasn't aware of ports/110632, I think the spirit of that patch is good (you should use LOCALBASE now, X11BASE is going away in the future). As for the actual mechanics, I think something like post-patch: @${CAT} ${FILESDIR}/fonts.conf | ${SED} 's|/usr/X11R6|%%LOCALBASE%%|' > ${= WRKSRC}/fonts.conf post-install: ${INSTALL_DATA} ${WRKSRC}/fonts.conf ${PREFIX}/etc/fonts/fonts.conf would be more elegant than replacing it in place after installation. With the current ports infrastructure you may wind up running ldconfig on the native ldconfig database (i.e., without -r /compat/linux). As an example, try replacing INSTALLS_SHLIB=3Dyes with USE_LDCONFIG=3Dyes= in x11/linux-xorg-libs/Makefile. Then run make install. It will do this: =2E =2E =3D=3D=3D> Running ldconfig /sbin/ldconfig -m /compat/linux/lib =2E =2E (note the lack of '-r /compat/linux') If you try it, I recommend you do this in a chroot, just in case ;). The root of the cause is that the old way (INSTALLS_SHLIB) uses LDCONFIG_CMD. The new way (USE_LDCONFIG) uses LDCONFIG. Having USE_LINUX_PREFIX causes bsd.port.mk to add -r /compat/linux to LDCONFIG_CMD (and not LDCONFIG). I don't have a patch at the moment, but I would probably start by trying to use LDCONFIG instead of LDCONFIG_CMD in the USE_LINUX stuff in bsd.port.mk. The linux-base install itself went painless though i haven't really used it yet until this morning when i wanted to install OpenOffice.org which for which i need a native JDK to build. So i tried to install java/jdk15 which (on default) uses linux-sun-jdk14 as its bootstrapping compiler.
