It seems like 6.x applications aren't fully compatible or some of the uses its being put do aren't fully compatible (e.g. you can't use Diablo with another native application that has its own 7.x shared libraries and expect things to work). For jdk16 and jdk15 you either need -fno-tree-vrp as others have mentioned or you should update to a more recent -CURRENT which should have this turned on by default. -- Greg Lewis Email : glewis@eyesbeyond.com Eyes Beyond Web : http://www.eyesbeyond.com Information Technology FreeBSD : glewis@FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Oct 10 17:03:45 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5BC5B16A418 for ; Wed, 10 Oct 2007 17:03:45 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from qpadla@gmail.com) Received: from fk-out-0910.google.com (fk-out-0910.google.com [209.85.128.191]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AAC7713C474 for ; Wed, 10 Oct 2007 17:03:44 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from qpadla@gmail.com) Received: by fk-out-0910.google.com with SMTP id b27so275730fka for ; Wed, 10 Oct 2007 10:03:43 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:from:reply-to:to:subject:date:user-agent:cc:references:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:message-id; bh=ksMi88jhB+Qs29gAzf39ArXmzNlA1wc1Ltg4J40mO4A=; b=BHLCtwo1pC0uUkCL5nZelgUGd2i7nqR0r+EtnEclCfLI4j0SD1Zz1ppRoUVOdDEi2KOKwMelEVYpVAKIu2GOsJELV9fvZLvzCXqSo4Ss0C9he9jUIAWu0vaQE9Ifuv1ftNbbJAtpu21UaIzMd3AlIWw+JsuhwNjQhu3O5YPqyrE= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=received:from:reply-to:to:subject:date:user-agent:cc:references:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:message-id; b=PhA0Bxjl1lq0NDGrDbCzwrCWJYN+WhYiluE3saA1pX6SzQoh4ObnN0GS9froWDUxIvR6tpf9GKuJvbDCAFgbfcR4MbjolBmlTYyoyabb0FjktLxgl/CWI33Nvv6I68t229a7QXqiix4WgAakzh1i3NwQcdED/iXrbeFWaauFvTk= Received: by 10.82.181.10 with SMTP id d10mr1884980buf.1192034181427; Wed, 10 Oct 2007 09:36:21 -0700 (PDT) Received: from orion ( [89.162.141.1]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPS id 7sm5218018nfv.2007.10.10.09.36.18 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=OTHER); Wed, 10 Oct 2007 09:36:20 -0700 (PDT) From: Nikolay Pavlov To: freebsd-current@freebsd.org Date: Wed, 10 Oct 2007 19:36:11 +0300 User-Agent: KMail/1.9.7 References: <470CCBB6.3050506@sanbi.ac.za> <20071010144529.GA3164@misty.eyesbeyond.com> In-Reply-To: <20071010144529.GA3164@misty.eyesbeyond.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="nextPart2785723.PubWroHSby"; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=pgp-sha1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <200710101936.12827.qpadla@gmail.com> Cc: Peter van Heusden , freebsd-java@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Which java jdk to use on -CURRENT? I think that it is fixed sometime in the middle of Sept., and I do not need to add it at least to compile jdk15/16 with -current. I have a different problem with JVM, though. Often, this is due to a better alternative having become available and/or the cessation of development on the existing port. In some cases, ports are marked for removal because they fail to build and install correctly from their sources, or otherwise fail in operation. The ports, and the reason and date that they have been scheduled for removal, are listed below. If no one has stepped forward before that time to propose a way to fix the problems (such as via a PR), the ports will be deleted. portname: java/linux-blackdown-jdk12 description: Blackdown Java Development Kit 1.2 for Linux maintainer: java@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: Obsolete version of jdk expiration date: 2007-08-22 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=java&portname=linux-blackdown-jdk12 portname: java/linux-sun-jdk12 description: Sun Java Development Kit 1.2 for Linux maintainer: java@FreeBSD.org status: IGNORE deprecated because: Obsolete version of jdk expiration date: 2007-08-22 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=java&portname=linux-sun-jdk12 If this problem is one that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD.
