These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. r - repocopy The resolution of the problem report is dependent on a repocopy operation within the CVS repository which is awaiting completion. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. I dont know for you guys if this inclusion is silly, but for me I really dont think it is. I just realized that after trying two days and after already given up and tried openvpn. just when I was about to comment all IPSec stuff I then realized and questioned myself, if there is an "_enable=YES" line, is there also a rc.d entry ? then a found and racoon worked for me. even when searching the web, using the error I got, nothing lead me to this. so, this is just a suggestion, just to try to contribute a bit to the handbook that helped me so much. thanks for your time matheus ps: I'm not in the list, so anything if is intended for me to hear plz cc ;) -- We will call you cygnus, The God of balance you shall be From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jan 17 06:27:51 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CCF7F16A417; Thu, 17 Jan 2008 06:27:51 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from hrs@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mail.allbsd.org (unknown [IPv6:2001:2f0:104:e002::2]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5472413C468; Thu, 17 Jan 2008 06:27:51 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from hrs@FreeBSD.org) Received: from delta.allbsd.org (p4121-ipbf507funabasi.chiba.ocn.ne.jp [124.100.63.121]) (authenticated bits=128) by mail.allbsd.org (8.13.8/8.13.8) with ESMTP id m0H6RXXa015618; Thu, 17 Jan 2008 15:27:47 +0900 (JST) (envelope-from hrs@FreeBSD.org) Received: from localhost (alph.allbsd.org [192.168.0.10]) (authenticated bits=0) by delta.allbsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id m0H6RJWb019021; Thu, 17 Jan 2008 15:27:23 +0900 (JST) (envelope-from hrs@FreeBSD.org) Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2008 15:27:04 +0900 (JST) Message-Id: <20080117.152704.183721050.hrs@allbsd.org> To: murray@stokely.org From: Hiroki Sato In-Reply-To: <2a7894eb0801162124x76d7132y8de9f4a1d314d8aa@mail.gmail.com> References: <2a7894eb0801162124x76d7132y8de9f4a1d314d8aa@mail.gmail.com> X-PGPkey-fingerprint: BDB3 443F A5DD B3D0 A530 FFD7 4F2C D3D8 2793 CF2D X-Mailer: Mew version 5.2 on Emacs 22.1 / Mule 5.0 (SAKAKI) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Multipart/Signed; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=pgp-sha1; boundary="--Security_Multipart(Thu_Jan_17_15_27_04_2008_608)--" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV version 0.91.2, clamav-milter version 0.91.2 on gatekeeper.allbsd.org X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Greylist: Sender succeeded SMTP AUTH authentication, not delayed by milter-greylist-3.0 (mail.allbsd.org [133.31.130.32]); Thu, 17 Jan 2008 15:27:49 +0900 (JST) Cc: doceng@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: [PATCH] docproj port needs to use tidy-devel X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2008 06:27:51 -0000 ----Security_Multipart(Thu_Jan_17_15_27_04_2008_608)-- Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit "Murray Stokely" wrote in <2a7894eb0801162124x76d7132y8de9f4a1d314d8aa@mail.gmail.com>: mu> Is there any reason not to update the docproj port to use tidy-devel rather mu> than tidy? The released version of tidy is nearly 8 years old and produces mu> xhtml that doesn't validate. The newer -devel releases produce more correct mu> xhtml. IIRC the reason was the encoding support and entity handling. Tidy's -raw option did not work for several 8-bit encodings because tidy always expands a numerical entity into a raw character at the parsing stage, so entities such as © are broken (it will typically be converted to corresponding raw iso8859-1 characters) in the output HTML file. I know the latest version of tidy has preserveEntities option but not sure if it works with encodings which did not work with the old tidy. The handbook lists the default partition sizes as being: 128MB for / 256MB for /var However, a quick look in /usr/src/usr/sbin/sysinstall/label.c shows that the default sizes used now are: 512MB for / 1GB for /var These sizes are used assuming the disk is big enough. My question... should the handbook be updated with this information? If so I'd like to work up a patch (complete with new screenshots etc.) to correct this information. If it's to use the sizes you have when you press A, you will miss in part the point of the section which is: - introducing a working vanilla layout (not always the default sysinstall sizes). - example of auto-default ('A') use; - exemple of manual partitions creation (which should be different from the default sizes you get with 'A'). -- Marc From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jan 17 14:48:56 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 693DC16A41A; The topic of my talk is "End-User's migration from Windows or Linux to FreeBSD" ( https://www.bsdwiki.de/FOSDEM_2007 ) My talk will be in english, and my question is the following : Could I use information gift in the handbook... http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ ...whithout modifying it ? Of course, I'll cite my source. What's the licence protecting the handbook ? My work is based on the handbook.
