They misidentify the platform as Solaris. In fact this is not the issue at all - placing required SO into solaris directory do the trick, however profiler still doesn't work because it is n= ot able to initiate JVMPI code for debugging and profiling. It's not something about NetBeans - but something works in a wrong way in native JDK, it seems. It might be interesting to check if NetBeans works fine with Linux JDK, of course after building the shared objects required for debugging for Linux :) --=20 Eugene N Dzhurinsky --nFreZHaLTZJo0R7j Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAkh6H9IACgkQy/i/DoZLbHyIngCfe2XIEFVaekKcaI/KK8BcNQkE z3YAn1XXhliMsS2n7AA33YR/b34vvksW =4V9Y -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nFreZHaLTZJo0R7j-- From owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jul 13 17:24:41 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B78F01065674 for ; Sun, 13 Jul 2008 17:24:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from baigsabeeh@gmail.com) Received: from wa-out-1112.google.com (wa-out-1112.google.com [209.85.146.176]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 832968FC12 for ; Sun, 13 Jul 2008 17:24:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from baigsabeeh@gmail.com) Received: by wa-out-1112.google.com with SMTP id j4so2461003wah.3 for ; Sun, 13 Jul 2008 10:24:41 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to :subject:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type :content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; bh=Zxcb+U4WuvslyFzzhybU3fI4Z3QizNyU3yL4F6PQiUQ=; b=s+Q8/cao7dJY+SMlxHkTYIiskWBWBOgeaO0uwSdfNfrFC0jaVIyef4A3U1wVy0Osx7 tiuR/FTpnGvlir1mRNh0J6Fe+aLWGBFBZYZ2m6/UED6Mj65kYZPaWX31lAE2noy1I9C1 4WCpx2sm2L10g4Vxdty9sqcy7NpZB6o+R0Rc8= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=message-id:date:from:to:subject:in-reply-to:mime-version :content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition :references; b=Cv0YSt3yLikBmaVBDE9FNsE+V/XS1A28/i3eYM3uo4IgMlYxCfE2M/+GnpZ2N5W21E 3WhA0UtwBz/muBXpO4f7OiKyykZMkO2eM6vlI42u0Iu2Y+k1JBZ2kq0H1l3gUs/y+HKb qXjbQLwbSfQiecKh0RlVIyZNE73XmrKKrCOxw= Received: by 10.114.209.1 with SMTP id h1mr3335663wag.36.1215969881150; Sun, 13 Jul 2008 10:24:41 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.114.56.17 with HTTP; Sun, 13 Jul 2008 10:24:41 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: Date: Sun, 13 Jul 2008 13:24:41 -0400 From: "Sabeeh Baig" To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <20080713153130.GA1905@jdevelop.priv> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline References: <20080713215033.5709cb97@ayiin> <20080713134323.GA1369@jdevelop.priv> <20080713153130.GA1905@jdevelop.priv> Subject: Re: Netbeans 6.1, no profiler... The profiler issue doesn't have anything to do with Solaris, and I never mentioned the specific issue. There are certain issues such as RCP, which require editing run.xml to get NetBeans to work correctly. I think it's best to start porting over NetBeans so that it builds on FreeBSD, rather than relying on Sun for generic builds, but somebody would have to be willing to put in the work.
