Eg. something like: The ls utility is a superset of the IEEE Std 1003.1-2001 (``POSIX.1''). The options -n and -A conforms to the IEEE Std 1003.1-2008. The options -I, -g, -o are FreeBSD's extension. It probably is HEAD (which is what the next bullet point references), but to me it can make sense to start tracking stable prior to an X.Y release with the plan of adopting the X.Y release. -- John Baldwin From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Feb 17 20:49:22 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AB454106566C; Wed, 17 Feb 2010 20:49:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jhb@freebsd.org) Received: from cyrus.watson.org (cyrus.watson.org [65.122.17.42]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7E9318FC13; Wed, 17 Feb 2010 20:49:22 +0000 (UTC) Received: from bigwig.baldwin.cx (66.111.2.69.static.nyinternet.net [66.111.2.69]) by cyrus.watson.org (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 3095446B23; Wed, 17 Feb 2010 15:49:22 -0500 (EST) Received: from jhbbsd.localnet (smtp.hudson-trading.com [209.249.190.9]) by bigwig.baldwin.cx (Postfix) with ESMTPA id C73AE8A025; Wed, 17 Feb 2010 15:49:18 -0500 (EST) From: John Baldwin To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2010 13:48:58 -0500 User-Agent: KMail/1.12.1 (FreeBSD/7.2-CBSD-20100120; KDE/4.3.1; amd64; ; ) References: <4B790895.400@switch.ch> In-Reply-To: <4B790895.400@switch.ch> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <201002171348.58448.jhb@freebsd.org> X-Greylist: Sender succeeded SMTP AUTH, not delayed by milter-greylist-4.0.1 (bigwig.baldwin.cx); Wed, 17 Feb 2010 15:49:18 -0500 (EST) X-Virus-Scanned: clamav-milter 0.95.1 at bigwig.baldwin.cx X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Spam-Status: No, score=-1.4 required=4.2 tests=AWL,BAYES_00 autolearn=ham version=3.2.5 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.2.5 (2008-06-10) on bigwig.baldwin.cx Cc: doc@freebsd.org, SWITCHmirror Admins Subject: Re: incorrect email address in handbook/mirrors-ftp.html X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2010 20:49:22 -0000 On Monday 15 February 2010 3:40:53 am SWITCHmirror Admins wrote: > Hi, > > I am a mirror administrator for ftp2.ch.freebsd.org. > > I now wanted to contact the address > hostmaster@ch.FreeBSD.org > as listed on > http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/mirrors-ftp.html > > But I got the following error report: > > hostmaster@ch.FreeBSD.org > > SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:: > > host srv03.basis06.com [195.14.26.133]: 550 5.1.1 : > > Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table > > Could you please check that out and get it fixed? The wording could definitely use improvement, but I don't think the new sentence has the same meaning. It is more like "we are speeding up the frequency of releases, but for reasons X, Y, and Z; not to keep with other OS version numbers." Perhaps just splitting it up into two sentence so it is less of a mouthful: These considerations are the motivation for the scheduling changes going forward. The schedule is not being changed to "keep pace" with other OS versions. -- John Baldwin From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Feb 18 19:07:07 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5978A1065679; Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gavin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 31AEE8FC14; Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id o1IJ77iZ061822; Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 GMT (envelope-from gavin@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gavin@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id o1IJ77rI061818; Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 GMT (envelope-from gavin) Date: Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 GMT Message-Id: <201002181907.o1IJ77rI061818@freefall.freebsd.org> To: gcooper@FreeBSD.org, gavin@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org, gavin@FreeBSD.org From: gavin@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: docs/143869: [PATCH] od(1)/hexdump(1): Incorrect char number for del X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:07:07 -0000 Synopsis: [PATCH] od(1)/hexdump(1): Incorrect char number for del State-Changed-From-To: open->patched State-Changed-By: gavin State-Changed-When: Thu Feb 18 19:00:58 UTC 2010 State-Changed-Why: Fixed in head, r204053.
