Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I had to link my kernel to an other address (0xe000007000000000) because I don't have physical memory there. See my memmap output below! I added another and did 'camcontrol rescan all'. I got the disk detected as da3. I did "gpart -c gpt da3" successfully. I added a UFS partition successfully: mech-as28# gpart add -t freebsd-ufs da3 da3p1 added However "gpart show" would segfault. In addition devices /dev/da1 and /dev/da2 vanished.
