I've worked at 3 companies selling FreeBSD-based network appliances (Sitara, Sandstorm, and Niksun), and I've contributed code and bugfixes to the FreeBSD project over the years. My main expertise and interest is with network applications, protocol stacks, network drivers and such, but I also have experience with FreeBSD's storage stack, having contributed the original IDE DMA code for FreeBSD's IDE driver (though please don't judge me by that code, I'll freely admit it was pretty horrible...) I also have general expertise with the FreeBSD kernel and bootloader, and experience with OS installation and packaging. Of course, I have a good deal of other non-FreeBSD-specific experience as well. I'm seeking work either in the Boston, MA, US area, or potentially in the EU. I am a citizen of both the US and France. US style resume available on request, a CV is also available on demand. Also, please see http://www.linkedin.com/pub/john-hood/20/1a1/44b regards, --jh
