Can you try with "svn patch"? If it doesn't work either, I recommend you check out the Git branch: git clone -b kms-drm-update-38 https://github.com/dumbbell/freebsd.git For the next tests, you will only have to update that checkout. Thanks. Other observations: On a cold boot, the CP init now succeeds with no CAFEDEAD - wow! However, on a reboot (without power off) the CP init is still *mostly* failing with the CAFEDEAD - I've rebooted about 6 times and 4 times got the CAFEDEAD. This is still pointing at there being something not quite right with the initialization sequence. Chip is RS690 X1270 IGP, and the CAFEDEAD is from r100_ring_test(). There are 10 LORs being logged on booting this revision (r279092), but none related to drm code. -jr From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Feb 25 12:12:04 2015 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher AECDH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id BA1CF6EB; Wed, 25 Feb 2015 12:12:04 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail.turbocat.net (heidi.turbocat.net [88.198.202.214]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 77AC9D76; Wed, 25 Feb 2015 12:12:04 +0000 (UTC) Received: from laptop015.home.selasky.org (cm-176.74.213.204.customer.telag.net [176.74.213.204]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by mail.turbocat.net (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id D49831FE022; Wed, 25 Feb 2015 13:12:00 +0100 (CET) Message-ID: <54EDBC3F.1030302@selasky.org> Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2015 13:12:47 +0100 From: Hans Petter Selasky User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/31.4.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: dervishe , "freebsd-current@FreeBSD.org" Subject: Re: [Call for testers] DRM device-independent code update to Linux 3.8 References: <20150220221246.661f2d01@shibato> <1227462529.6746581.1424602457182.JavaMail.yahoo@mail.yahoo.com> In-Reply-To: <1227462529.6746581.1424602457182.JavaMail.yahoo@mail.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: "freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org" X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18-1 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2015 12:12:04 -0000 The -h patch Works for me, tested on a mac book pro. --HPS From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Feb 26 14:13:07 2015 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [8.8.178.115]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher AECDH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id D445AD29; Thu, 26 Feb 2015 14:13:07 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail.lifanov.com (mail.lifanov.com [206.125.175.12]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id BBA9EB88; Thu, 26 Feb 2015 14:13:07 +0000 (UTC) Received: by mail.lifanov.com (Postfix, from userid 58) id 2B17B1C8CF2; Thu, 26 Feb 2015 09:06:36 -0500 (EST) Received: from [127.0.0.1] (vnat004.nandomedia.com [166.108.31.68]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by mail.lifanov.com (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 8AAA81A7B2B; Thu, 26 Feb 2015 09:06:35 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <54EF286A.5030006@mail.lifanov.com> Date: Thu, 26 Feb 2015 09:06:34 -0500 From: Nikolai Lifanov User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/31.4.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-current@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: [Call for testers] DRM device-independent code update to Linux 3.8 References: <54E3D2A0.2090903@FreeBSD.org> In-Reply-To: <54E3D2A0.2090903@FreeBSD.org> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18-1 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 26 Feb 2015 14:13:07 -0000 On 02/17/15 18:45, Jean-Sébastien Pédron wrote: > Hi! > > An update to the DRM subsystem, not including the drivers, is ready for > wider testing! > > The patch against HEAD is here: > https://people.freebsd.org/~dumbbell/graphics/drm-update-38.f.patch > > I'm interested in success/failure reports for amd64, powerpc and > powerpc64 users, for i915 and Radeon GPUs. Please take the opportunity to check each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate, submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can safely ignore the entry. You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations below. Full details can be found at the following URL: http://portscout.freebsd.org/x11@freebsd.org.html Port | Current version | New version ------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------ graphics/gbm | 10.4.4 | 10.4.5 ------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------ graphics/libEGL | 10.4.4 | 10.4.5 ------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------ graphics/libglesv2 | 10.4.4 | 10.4.5 ------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------ If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of distfiles on a per-port basis: http://portscout.freebsd.org/info/portscout-portconfig.txt Thanks.
