Firefox issues are way easier to track down as regressions by eliminating differences between working and non-working version. The first candidate is always the fragile user environment, so you need to start from a clean slate by populating a jail with X11 pass-through and trying to reproduce there. After that you can start bisecting which should determine if the issue is port-specific or due to upstream update. --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQF8BAEBCgBmBQJW5a1gXxSAAAAAAC4AKGlzc3Vlci1mcHJAbm90YXRpb25zLm9w ZW5wZ3AuZmlmdGhob3JzZW1hbi5uZXREQjQ0MzY3NEM3RDIzNTc4NkUxNDkyQ0VF NEM3Nzg4MzQ3OURCRERCAAoJEOTHeINHnb3b8JEH+QFaS4yVDU1PCj1uVOW3nQ+f 1fb9xaLfaIC7xbhMeevnPnz0aTZn2ihMVCRpZ7bWmPpaxrM8skgDNvAT70Vx+K3s Mu4ezT8ioz6lz0m6Kf7GoJEDrrcbuaR4l0jEGoeK0mZgDQzurdV5tS5dF4MxSiLc WcGJx0ofL0xeTTbXDEe9d/uD3Ucmy1TkgXA9RqkeQo385ro89uI8+UN47bH3DDou oFUyC9PGGV5k5RSgHWpwKZ0CpEvaffu2+eftbu/vubJUC8aTV7fnReJ6g7kGRgon 695Q+Z+WZYiV6Pl9FrYS+lFy0t1dgS9E4ImSt3AkRVRBSh/Roa9aIeq7KD2cdao= =ORie -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=-- From owner-freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org Sun Mar 13 18:32:33 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-gecko@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5FE0CACFFD6 for ; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4ABFAF5A for ; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 49F75ACFFD5; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: gecko@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 49A4CACFFD4 for ; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 38F3FF58 for ; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u2DIWWcT073126 for ; Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: gecko@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 207837] www/firefox: clang34 and clang35 crash on i386 with -O2 -fstack-protector (OPTIMIZED_CFLAGS=off) Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:32 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: commit-hook@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: gecko@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback+ X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.21 Precedence: list List-Id: Gecko Rendering Engine issues List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:32:33 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D207837 --- Comment #15 from commit-hook@freebsd.org --- A commit references this bug: Author: dim Date: Sun Mar 13 18:32:11 UTC 2016 New revision: 296800 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/base/296800 Log: Pull in r219512 from upstream llvm trunk (by Hal Finkel): [MiSched] Fix a logic error in tryPressure() Fixes a logic error in the MachineScheduler found by Steve Montgomery (and confirmed by Andy). This has gone unfixed for months because the fix has been found to introduce some small performance regressions. This has gone unfixed for months because the fix has been found to introduce some small performance regressions. However, Andy has recommended that, at this point, we fix this to avoid further dependence on the incorrect behavior (and then follow-up separately on any regressions), and I agree. Fixes PR18883. This fixes a possible "ran out of registers" error when compiling www/firefox 45.0 on i386. Direct commit to stable/9, because head already has this fix since the llvm/clang 3.6.0 import.
