List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 21 Mar 2016 03:16:22 -0000 hiya, Here's my first cut of 11n support for urtwn: http://people.freebsd.org/~adrian/net80211/20160320-urtwn-11n-1.diff notably: * the rate table init is wrong - it only knows about legacy rates, not 11n rates * there's no HT40 support * there's no short-gi support * there's no A-MPDU support, so TX throughput won't improve dramatically. * the urtwn_tx_raw() path doesn't set the rate index or frame type at all; I'm not sure what's going on there. * not sure if I should set the 'mode' to 11GN if we're transmitting at a rate that's not MCS (eg, if we are trying to transmit an 11b rate in 11bgn mode). I should double/triple check that. I'm using it right now on: Mar 20 20:01:47 gertrude kernel: urtwn0: on usbus0 Mar 20 20:01:47 gertrude kernel: urtwn0: MAC/BB RTL8188EU, RF 6052 1T1R Mar 20 20:01:47 gertrude kernel: urtwn0: enabling 11n I'd appreciate any feedback and maybe implement/testing the rest of it and send it to me. :P Thanks, -adrian From owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org Mon Mar 21 03:38:04 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-wireless@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4CDD5AD6F1F for ; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 03:38:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from rizzo@i805.com.br) Received: from server.i805.com.br (mailhost.i805.com.br [50.7.9.75]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "fbsd10.amd64", Issuer "fbsd10.amd64" (not verified)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 0BBB21808 for ; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 03:38:03 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from rizzo@i805.com.br) Received: from www.i805.com.br (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by server.i805.com.br (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u2L3IJt8066612 for ; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 00:18:40 -0300 (BRT) (envelope-from rizzo@i805.com.br) From: "Nilton Jose Rizzo" To: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org Subject: nic ral0 not created Date: Mon, 21 Mar 2016 00:18:19 -0300 Message-Id: <20160321031840.M89438@i805.com.br> X-Mailer: OpenWebMail 3.00_beta4 20140806 79bb7cc X-OriginatingIP: 186.221.218.162 (rizzo) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.4 required=5.0 tests=ALL_TRUSTED,BAYES_00, RAZOR2_CF_RANGE_51_100,RAZOR2_CF_RANGE_E8_51_100,RAZOR2_CHECK autolearn=no autolearn_force=no version=3.4.1 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.4.1 (2015-04-28) on server.i805.com.br X-Mailman-Approved-At: Mon, 21 Mar 2016 03:45:04 +0000 X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.21 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussions of 802.11 stack, tools device driver development." I've tested it on RTL8188EU and RTL8192CU at this stage. I haven't triple verified that it's transmitting 11n frames but it at least looks like it's doing the right thing. It's certainly /receiving/ them! -a From owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org Mon Mar 21 12:59:01 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-wireless@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 73593AD68F9 for ; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 12:59:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from eric@metricspace.net) Received: from mail.metricspace.net (207-172-209-83.c3-0.arl-ubr1.sbo-arl.ma.static.cable.rcn.com [207.172.209.83]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 485ADFA1 for ; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 12:59:00 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from eric@metricspace.net) Received: from [172.16.0.64] (unknown [172.16.0.64]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) (Authenticated sender: eric) by mail.metricspace.net (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 892E514F6; Mon, 21 Mar 2016 12:58:59 +0000 (UTC) User-Agent: K-9 Mail for Android In-Reply-To: References: <86B2B57E-A595-490E-9A9A-67F14EA5BB90@metricspace.net> <2466598D-721C-4C05-870A-136A562C581B@metricspace.net> <3FACAF7E-007B-440B-91AC-6AA60C4A6AE1@metricspace.net> <5DC254C0-75A9-4C9B-A197-EBFFB87B4D01@metricspace.net> <1F4E1FE8-5D38-4CB6-ACC2-2F0BC1E11FF0@metricspace.net> <5A6F6CD5-F987-4772-9227-291C321490FA@metricspace.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Subject: Re: Atheros 9462 detected but nonfunctional From: Eric McCorkle Date: Mon, 21 Mar 2016 08:58:58 -0400 To: Adrian Chadd CC: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org Message-ID: <0FD0C4E7-2D1A-447B-B2BC-EBE9B71FD663@metricspace.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.21 X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.21 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussions of 802.11 stack, tools device driver development." And: * verified that indeed yes, it is transmitting MCS packets, with RTS/CTS from HT protmode, obeying the amrr rate control. I've tested this on the 8188EU that uses amrr rate control; I haven't validated the firmware rate control is working on the 8192CU. -adrian From owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org Sat Mar 26 20:49:02 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-wireless@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C2D87ADEC67 for ; Sat, 26 Mar 2016 20:49:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id B3A9212C6 for ; Sat, 26 Mar 2016 20:49:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u2QKn1Eu099138 for ; Sat, 26 Mar 2016 20:49:02 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-wireless@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 194336] AR9300 pci wireless card not working Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2016 20:49:01 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: wireless X-Bugzilla-Version: 10.1-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: bwhitleyjr@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: Normal X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-wireless@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.21 Precedence: list List-Id: "Discussions of 802.11 stack, tools device driver development."
