Some investigation reveals that this is apparently down to the pmatch objec= t in the procline() function not being used properly. In the outer loop, it is being used to track the start and end position wit= hin the current input line. However, if multiple patterns are provided, in the inner loop it is overwritten by the first call to fastexec()/regexec() and = not reinitialized with st and l->len for the next. The (re)initialization code for pmatch.rm_so and pmatch.rm_eo needs to be m= oved down into the inner loop, so that it is set correctly for every pattern, not just for the first one. This also means that the if (st =3D=3D (size_t)pmatch.rm_so) code in the outer loop is probably wrong, too, as that will only detect the output of the last fastexec()/regexec() call for the last of multiple patte= rns. Perhaps there should be one pmatch object per pattern. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Sun Oct 15 15:53:03 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C5A73E45A2B for ; This can occur when: - The server is a 64bit architecture. This was caused by the code erroneous= ly assuming that a "u_long" was a uint32_t and would exactly store an IPv4 host address. --> The attached patch fixes this. - The server didn't fill in the field for NFSv4.1 clients. --> The attached patch fixes this. - The client is using IPv6. This was not handled by the original NFSv4 code since the original RFC-3530 did not specify a way to define a IPv6 client callback address. --> I think that RFC-7530 addresses this and it needs to be fixed, but I don't have a patch yet. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Sun Oct 15 21:51:58 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 987C6E4BB51 for ; Sun, 15 Oct 2017 21:51:58 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 866A8302C for ; Sun, 15 Oct 2017 21:51:58 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9FLpw1M088837 for ; Sun, 15 Oct 2017 21:51:58 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 223036] nfsdumpstate client IP address broken for 64bit arches plus IPv6 Date: Sun, 15 Oct 2017 21:51:58 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: rmacklem@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: rmacklem@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: mfc-stable10? mfc-stable11? The most common tool for the job is mfsBSD. You can put mfsBSD on a USB sti= ck and boot from the USB stick. MfsBSD includes some scripts to start dhclient= on all ethernet like interfaces and starts the SSH server by default. You can either use the minimal install er script included in mfsBSD or run bsdinsta= ll over SSH. Due to a bug in bsdinstall you have to create /usr/freebsd-dist a= nd load the MANIFEST manually if you want to go that way. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Mon Oct 16 17:11:59 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C73F1E3F86B for ; Mon, 16 Oct 2017 17:11:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id B59536350E for ; Mon, 16 Oct 2017 17:11:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9GHBv4k016247 for ; Mon, 16 Oct 2017 17:11:59 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 207677] atrtc Warning: Couldn't map I/O on Skylake Supermicro X11SSH-LN4F Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2017 17:11:57 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: robbelics@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2017 17:11:59 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D207677 Rob Belics changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |robbelics@gmail.com --- Comment #7 from Rob Belics --- I don't know how long this has been going on but I just noticed this same warning on my Gigabyte motherboard with FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p1 --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Tue Oct 17 01:32:36 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2B511E4C0D2 for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 01:32:36 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 192BC76664 for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 01:32:36 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9H1WZM4078420 for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 01:32:35 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 219113] [feature request][patch] Make ruptime(1) more specific about number of users Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2017 01:32:36 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: bin X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: timur@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2017 01:32:36 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D219113 Timur I. Subtract these 2 pages from sw_nblcks as well as from swap_pager_avail and swap_total to keep track the correct numbers. Given sw_used and sw_nblcks now keeps track of correct pages, we can use these to check remaining pages blist_alloc(). This improves situation where some of swap devices are filled. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Tue Oct 17 04:14:24 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7A676E2B4BE for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 04:14:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 65C6A8115C for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 04:14:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9H4ENPt082521 for ; Tue, 17 Oct 2017 04:14:24 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 204688] out of swap space due to intensive disk IO Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2017 04:14:24 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 10.2-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: ota@j.email.ne.jp X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2017 04:14:24 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D204688 ota@j.email.ne.jp changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |ota@j.email.ne.jp --- Comment #2 from ota@j.email.ne.jp --- I think the message, "out of swap space", is misleading. I have had several disks fail over time and have seen problems with resilve= rs either not completing or getting to 99% within a week but then taking a fur= ther month to complete. I have been seeking advice in the forums. https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/61643/#post-355088 A system that has a disk replaced some time ago is in this state pool: s11d34 state: DEGRADED status: One or more devices is currently being resilvered. I have stopped ALL access to the pool and ran zpool iostat and there is sti= ll activity (although low e.g. 1.2M read, 1.78M write etc...) so it does appea= r to be doing something. The disks (6TB or 8TB HGST SAS) are attached via an LSI 9207-8e HBA which is connected to a LSI 6160 SAS Switch that is connected to a Supermicro JBOD. The HBA's have 2 connectors, each is connected to a different SAS switch. The system sees the disk twice as expected and I use gmultipath to label the disks and set in Active/Passive mode, I then use the multipath name during zpool create e.g. root@freebsd04:~ # gmultipath status Name Status Components multipath/J11R00-1EJ2XR5F OPTIMAL da0 (ACTIVE) da11 (PASSIVE) multipath/J11R01-1EJ2XT4F OPTIMAL da1 (ACTIVE) da12 (PASSIVE) multipath/J11R02-1EHZE2GF OPTIMAL da2 (ACTIVE) da13 (PASSIVE) zpool create -f store43 raidz2 multipath/J11R00-1EJ2XR5F multipath/J11R01-1EJ2XT4F etc....... Any advice if this is a bug or something wrong with my setup? On 10.3 and below, m= odem control was prohibited for serial console, and baud rate was fixed at boot. We had /etc/ttys configured to do "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600", but the se= rial console is actually set for 115200, with no modem control. On 10.3 and earl= ier, the getty config was ignored, but on 11.1, the config is used, and since our console connection (also Supermicro IPMI SOL) isn't doing modem control (or= not properly), this made output to the serial console block -- which was causing segfaulting processes to never exit. This seems to be resolvable, by setting /etc/ttys to the proper settings (3wire.115200 in our case), but I didn't see a kernel change that looked li= ke it was intentionally changing this, and sys/kern/tty.c:323 still seems to be trying to prevent modem control on the console port. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Fri Oct 20 02:52:59 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 814EAE4DD27 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 02:52:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6FAA9647CE for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 02:52:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9K2qxrL077672 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 02:52:59 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 223059] [patch] consider skipped 2 pages in sw_nblks and add size check before blist_alloc Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 02:52:59 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: ota@j.email.ne.jp X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 02:52:59 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D223059 --- Comment #2 from ota@j.email.ne.jp --- (In reply to Alan Cox from comment #1) I've seen 2 conditions when blist_alloc() failed massively. One case is when sizes of swap devices are imbalanced especially when one of them are significantly small or large, one or some of others gets filled. The other case is when more devices are added to avoid swap space exhaustio= n.=20 As soon as all existing devices are fulled, new ones will pick up all I/Os. In any cases, if a machine is busy swapping out pages, I also agree that failures of blist_alloc() are minor in performance as well. Also, blist_alloc needs to find a contentious region. Even if remaining blo= cks is more than requested, blist_alloc can fail due to fragmentation. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Fri Oct 20 04:04:33 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 70E5AE4EEF5 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 04:04:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5D9BB66B73 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 04:04:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9K44XK1035720 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 04:04:33 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 221990] panic: Assertion reclaimable == delta failed at ../../../net/iflib.c:1947 Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 04:04:33 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: pho@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 04:04:33 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D221990 --- Comment #4 from Peter Holm --- I'm still able to get info problems, even with this "fix". I have a router that nearly simultaneously creates two netgraph-based PPP V= PN tunnels (ng_iface ngX) to the same remote router and establishes OSPF neighbourship over each tunnel to announce and receive some prefixes. It repeatedly falls to the same problem. Here is a scenario: 1. First PPP tunnel is created by first router and addresses are assigned: 192.168.71.9 for itself and 192.168.71.10 for second router. Addresses then accepted and successfully assigned by second router. 2. Second PPP tunnel is created and again, first router assignes addresses 192.168.71.13 for itself and 192.168.71.14 for part of the tunnel. First ro= uter announces 192.168.71.14/32 using OSPF over first tunnel and second router's ospfd process installs this route to the kernel using 192.168.71.9 as gatew= ay: got message of size 184 on Fri Oct 20 14:54:15 2017 RTM_ADD: Add Route: len 184, pid: 90850, seq 44, errno 0, flags: locks: inits:=20 sockaddrs: 192.168.71.14 192.168.71.9 3. This ioctl controls kernel crash dumping. What is t= his feature doing in this very unexpected place? I haven't checked but I assume= the ioctl requires administrative privileges to use but /dev/null is a strange = home for it. I don't believe this has any security implications. It just unnecessarily expose attack surface since /dev/null objects can commonly be given to sandboxed environments and is generally considered a certainly ben= ign object. DIOCSKERNELDUMP is not documented in null(4) but documented in dumpon(8). At the very least it should be documented in null(4). I would advocate for exposing the feature through a new kernel interface for this purpose (or another better suited home) rather than null(4), and then removing (perhaps in time) the feature from null(4). --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Fri Oct 20 21:56:08 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4E514E41368 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 21:56:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 3D1B467877 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 21:56:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9KLu7Um064559 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 21:56:08 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 223138] null(4) has DIOCSKERNELDUMP ioctl Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 21:56:07 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.1-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: cem@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Closed X-Bugzilla-Resolution: Not A Bug X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: resolution bug_status cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 21:56:08 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D223138 Conrad Meyer changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|--- |Not A Bug Status|New |Closed CC| |cem@freebsd.org --- Comment #1 from Conrad Meyer --- This is how "dumpon off" disables kernel dumping... it's documented in dumpon.8. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org Fri Oct 20 23:04:28 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-bugs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C087EE424D5 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 23:04:28 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id AE8BF69790 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 23:04:28 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v9KN4SmS065704 for ; Fri, 20 Oct 2017 23:04:28 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 223138] null(4) has DIOCSKERNELDUMP ioctl Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 23:04:28 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.1-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: avg@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Closed X-Bugzilla-Resolution: Not A Bug X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Bug reports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2017 23:04:28 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D223138 --- Comment #2 from Andriy Gapon --- (In reply to Conrad Meyer from comment #1) Conrad, have you double-checked that, for example, a jail that has /dev/null access can not disable crash dumps?
