Enabling AOM option by default would imply frequent ffmpeg rebuilds due to aom updates. OTOH, ffmpeg had a lot of rebuilds recently due to ABI changes, so it may n= ot be as bad as it seems. Going by libvpx history Google isn't particularly committed in maintaining standalone releases compared to whatever (snapshot= ) is bundled in Chromium (e.g., see mXY branches for Chromium XY milestones), so downstream sometimes have to patch vulnerabilities for months. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Sun Mar 17 19:06:50 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 312F01547601 for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:50 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BB7148D08B for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:49 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 7198715475FE; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:49 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: multimedia@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5D85B15475FD for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:49 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id E862C8D087 for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 3D5A813D78 for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id x2HJ6mSS072985 for ; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:48 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id x2HJ6mcs072984 for multimedia@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:48 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: multimedia@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 235953] multimedia/{ffmpeg,vlc}: enable AV1 support by default Date: Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:48 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa, patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: jbeich@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: riggs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback+ X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 17 Mar 2019 19:06:50 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D235953 --- Comment #4 from Jan Beich --- (In reply to Jan Beich from comment #3) > ... frequent ffmpeg rebuilds due to aom updates. I have made a fair bit of progress, but I am really not a programmer and have hit what seems like a trivial issue, but have failed to figure out the problem and am looking for some guidance. static __sighandler_t oldSignalHandlerSigInt; static __sighandler_t oldSignalHandlerSigSev; void sig_segfault_handler(int signo); void sig_sigint_handler(int signo); void installSigHandler(void) { oldSignalHandlerSigSev=signal(SIGSEGV, sig_segfault_handler); // show stacktrace on default oldSignalHandlerSigInt=signal(SIGINT, sig_sigint_handler); // show stacktrace on default } I converted the sighandler_t in the code to __sighandler_t, which fixed errors on the typedefs, but get this on the assignments: /home/oberman/avidemux_2.7.1/avidemux_core/ADM_core/src/ADM_crashdump_unix.cpp:63:27: error: non-object type '__sighandler_t' (aka 'void (int)') is not assignable oldSignalHandlerSigSev=signal(SIGSEGV, sig_segfault_handler); // show stacktrace on default Would anyone be able to help out so this very useful port can be restored? I do know that there are differences between Linux and BSD sighandler. BTW, the name of the application is terrible as it is no longer AVI specific nor just a demultiplexer. It supports most popular video multiplexers. It is a simple, light-weight GUI based video editor/converter.
