Sort of a FreeBSD-ish question (in an indirect way)... which
flavours of UNIX have rpc.lockd, or other method for placing an
advisory lock on a file over NFS? I know SunOS, Solaris and IRIX do,
but BSD/OS and FreeBSD do not. AIX? OSF/1? HP-UX?
