Under FreeBSD 2.1 0928 SNAP it makes a loud popping sound usually when starting to play a sound. Is there a way to fix this? Will it be fixed in the final 2.1? thanks From owner-freebsd-multimedia Thu Nov 9 23:38:01 1995 Return-Path: owner-multimedia Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) id XAA10711 for multimedia-outgoing; Thu, 9 Nov 1995 23:38:01 -0800 Received: from anvil.gatech.edu (root@anvil.gatech.edu [130.207.165.41]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) with ESMTP id XAA10706 for ; Thu, 9 Nov 1995 23:37:59 -0800 Received: from acmex.gatech.edu (gt4722a@acmex.gatech.edu [130.207.165.22]) by anvil.gatech.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) with ESMTP id CAA24632 for ; Fri, 10 Nov 1995 02:37:57 -0500 From: gt4722a@prism.gatech.edu (Brian "AGENT GORDON COLE" Atkins) Received: (gt4722a@localhost) by acmex.gatech.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) id CAA17981 for multimedia@freebsd.org; Fri, 10 Nov 1995 02:37:56 -0500 Message-Id: <199511100737.CAA17981@acmex.gatech.edu> Subject: vat & CU-SeeMe reflector To: multimedia@freebsd.org Date: Fri, 10 Nov 1995 02:37:55 -0500 (EST) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL24] Content-Type: text Content-Length: 652 Sender: owner-multimedia@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk vmix,vat3.2, and the latest cu-seeme reflector are up and running on my machine. I am having some problems however, and maybe one of you has tried this before. This is using a Gus MAX, vmix is recording from /dev/dsp1 and vat is finding that fine on /tmp/vmixsock. I started vat like so: vat -U /tmp/vmixsock -n ulc111.residence.gatch.edu/3456, which is my machine. And the reflect.conf file is set up as default, except the VAT-UC-PORT is 3456 and the VAT-CONF- ID is 0. refmon shows no connections, and attempts to connect from another freebsd machine similiar to mine using vat receives nothing. What am I missing? (yes, vat's mic is un-muted :)
