What happens is that I get a constant tone from the computer's speaker and the keyboard remains locked. I must power-cycle the system to recover. If there are no PCMCIA cards installed suspend/resume works okay. I am running -current (as of May 28th) with the pccard-test-960602 installed on that. The failure is the same with either my Ethernet (IBM ethernet card) or SCSI (SCSI II Bus Toaster) card installed. Anyone else seeing this behavior and/or have any suggestions on how to fix or avoid it? The answer appears to be no. It detects the card OK, and looks it up in the database OK, but it can't probe it, regardless of the config index I specify in /etc/pccard.conf. The symptoms are identical to those I was seeing with the Nomad code before I managed to pick the correct config index. (I can't run with the 'default' config, index 0x20, I have to use 0x22 due to the stuid port usage in this machine.) Having just upgraded to a late-last-week -current, I'm not sure if the Nomad patches will go in cleanly or not, but I'll have to go there to get the card working again. The Nomad patches to if_ed.c need to be applied for NE2000-compatible PCCards to work. Even then, the kernel will still barf because the 0x10 flags value from /etc/pccard.conf comes into the probe routine and thus the driver tries to bzero nonexistent card memory.
