OBJECTIVE

In search of a part time, after school entry-level position through
which I can expand my skills and knowledge in system administration
on UNIX-based platforms, networking, software development, and the
Internet. In particular, a job accessible mostly through the Internet,
with perhaps a weekly or biweekly visit in the New York City area,
is a necessity.

to the Internet community, as well as assisting with the maintenance
of others. Thorough knowledge of system administration, common user
and administration applications, and facilities such as NIS, DNS/bind,
Kerberos, ssh, and the kernel. Detailed grasp of the X Window System.

Development
Excellent understanding of programming on Unix systems using the C
and perl languages, and the Bourne, Korn, and C shells. Ability to
program using C++, Java, and the Windows platform is somewhat weak
but willing to learn. Able to create user applications, daemons,
and system administration tools, using the console as well as the
ncurses library and the X Window system. Firm ability to write
applications utilizing local area networks (LANs) and the Internet.
Expertise in creating Internet applications and World Wide Web pages
using HTML 3.2 and the Common Gateway Interface (CGI), as well as
maintaining Unix WWW servers, is also present.

Languages
Can speak, read, and write the Russian language fluently. Also moderate
abilities in German.
