Having local language versions is certainly a good thing and I'm very happy to see it, I'm simply wondering if: A) It's better to try and somehow merge these back into the master sources so that anyone with a CVS repository could do something like: cvs co -P www cd www/data make LANG=ja_JP.EUC or whatever interface makes the most sense (maybe they go to www/data/ja_JP.EUC instead - I'm not Mr. I18N here :-) for making the Japanese copy of www.freebsd.org. Then www.jp.freebsd.org simply builds its own pages from source instead of mirroring www.freebsd.org and everybody's happy. B) Simply syncing this by hand whenever significant changes occur rather than building a mechanism for it. This appears to be the system in place now. :-) If we choose (A) then John Fieber is certainly going to need to tell us how to do it since he's the web god around here. If we choose (B) then I guess this is a "heads up!" to all regional www maintainers that the FreeBSD home page has changed significantly and the translation crews should start considering another revision of their local copies. :) Thanks.. This falls under the category of "extremely obvious" and if someone is so braindead as to not know, after all these years, that mail issues should be sent to "postmaster" then it's also a foregone conclusion that the skill of using a web browser is probably far beyond them, and they'll not read the page in any case. Seriously, if I thought it would do any good then I'd add it there in a second, but I suspect that it will only tell those who already know the obvious and those who don't know will never look, still being too busy just trying to figure out how to get their mouse out of the plastic wrapper it came in. I have purchased a second HDD to install to my 9316 Advantage AST machine. It is a 420Mbyte, Conner CFS420A. Plus I have bought the FreeBSD 2.2.1 CDROM from Walnut Creek. Do you have any specific instructions on how to (1) Install the drive and not make a DOS drive and (2) how to Install the CD-ROM software to the new drive. I am a first timer with this sort of stuff on my home computer. I am a Systems Administrator for Solaris 2.3 operating on SUN platforms in a NETWORK configuration, however this really is not relevant to my new problem. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am exciting to use UNIX in my house. I would like to get started as soon as possible.
