I haven't looked at this lately, but AIUI the ISIC driver (FreeBSD version) doesn't even try to configure the base addresses - it just relies on the BIOS to do it for you, and guesses at the result. It really needs someone to add the hooks for PnP support to the driver so that it can be configured explicitly [I believe the NetBSD version already does this]. It will not work. A different ISDN protocol is used in the US, which is currently not supported by isdn4bsd. I have diffs for bisdn to do this; I haven't gotten around to forward-porting them to i4b. Wolfgang, if you want the diffs as an example (there was some trickiness to how PnP interacted with the Tele.S 16.3 PnP, IIRC), you can have 'em - I don't think I'll have time to look at this for at least a few days. Somewhat, but it has been at the low end of my priorities for a while (work that absolutely has to be done RIGHT NOW overshadows work that should be done and would eliminate the other work on a longer timescale...) > Would implementing it be difficult for someone not used to ISDN > driver internals? Are you used to working in kernel space? You basically need to modify the raw channel interface to allow passing of which number to call (by means of an ioctl()), make that communicate throughout the driver, get mpd with synchronous support from me (unless you want to run the MP branch of iij-ppp), and modify the code to use your ioctl(). > Is there any other way to link both B-channels? A patch to allow this form of routing was posted to -hackers a few weeks ago (without any comment about it's relevance or not to ISDN). Eivind. I use the Omni.net TA with FreeBSD, and it works just great. What the TA does is speaking ppp with the other end and translates async to sync ppp and vice versa. It also handles bandwith on demand etc etc. I use iijppp exactly as I used it with a modem, no problems. About the serial cards, I took a serial card wich had maxium speed of 115k2 and exchanged the crystal to one with double the frequency. Works with no problems. I tell iijppp to set the port speed to 115k2, and the card is actually running at 230k4. I think most of the "high speed" serial cards on the market today works in the same manner. You can clock-double or -quadruple it. What ever speed you set your terminal to is actually double or quad. /Jakob Alvermark ------------------------------------------------------- Teligent AB, P.O.
