What am I doing wrong? Got tools/fdimage.exe, floppies/kern.flp, and floppies/mfsroot.flp via ftp (yeah, I switched to binary mode ...) but ended up with a 'General failure' when putting the image to the floppy using c:\FreeBSD>fdimage kern.flp a: on both NT4 and Win95. After that the drive becomes useless until I restart my PC. I *did* crosscheck the floppy for bad sectors, that should be o.k. I´m working on a standard AcerPower 5400 Box with a x86 Family 5 Model 4 Stepping 3 using IDE-hard disk. I want to install all of FreeBSD on the second drive and not bother the "C" drive. I have read the instructions that are in Chapter 4 of "The Complete FreeBSD" by Lehey. My question is, if I install FreeBSD on the second drive, will the "system" know about FreeBSD and at boot up time ask me which operating system do I want. I read about boot managers etc. But I do not want to reformat or touch the "C" drive. Should I add some lines to GENERIC kernel in order to the system recognize it? 2-And what about the SondBlaster PnP 32 sound card? 3-Why does my HP Deskjet 660C print only non-formatted texts? When I try to print, for instance, a HTML page, instead of doing the right job, the output is: %!PS-Adobe-1.0 EPSF-3.0 %%BoundingBox: 0 0 595 842 %%Creator: Qt 1.42 %%CreationDate: Thu May 21 15:00:00 1999 %%Pages: 1 %%EndComments % Standard Qt prolog /D{bind def}bind def/ED (...)
