Hello,

I am seeking an Intermediate or Jr. Systems/Network Administration
position focussed on FreeBSD systems.  I have approximately four years
of real-world FreeBSD experience as a Systems/Network Administrator in
an ISP/NOC environment, as well as over eight years of general Unix
and TCP/IP useage.

Below is a copy of my ASCII resume.

Objective:

system administration role.  Ideal duties include typical Unix administration
tasks, as well as host and network security administration.

Summary:

Extensive experience with UNIX (FreeBSD, SunOS/Solaris) and Linux, programming
languages (C, some x86 ASM, Java, SH/CSH), HTML/CGI development, familiar with
many computing platforms. Highly adaptable and able to learn new concepts and
systems quickly. Works well alone or in a group. Self-starting, motivated,
receptive to new ideas and quick to see possibilities.

Systems and Platforms:

* Familiar with usage and current issues of most major operating systems,
  including UNIX, Windows and Macintosh platforms. 
* Four years+ of real-world Unix and network administration.

Application Development:

* More than three years of experience with general programming languages,
  including most major industry standard languages such as C and C++.

Internet and Networking Experience:

* Extensive software installation and configuration experience on Unix
  platforms utilizing C/C++, Perl, Make, m4, etc.  Experience includes
  DNS/BIND maintenance, configuration and installation; Apache
  maintenance and upgrades; Sendmail maintenance and upgrades; Majordomo    
  installation and list administration; Anonymous and restricted-access
  FTP configuration and administration; configuration of primary and
  secondary name servers; configuration and administration of natd/IPFW    
  firewalls; setup of Squid cache solutions and more.
* Hands-on experience installing 10/100BT (CAT5) LANs and 10/100BT/BNC
  networking equipment. 
* Hands-on experience installing and configuring Cisco (2x00 series routers,
  4x00 series gateway routers, various hubs, Catalyst switches), 3Com/USR
  (MP16 SMP Total Control modem banks, Total Control Enterprise Hubs) and
  Nortel (CVX 1800) networking equipment. 
* Designed corporate intranet for SEI Data/Hoosier Telecom.
* Extensive configuration/maintenance/administration experience with FreeBSD
  (various releases), SunOS/Solaris, Linux and Windows NT. 
* Administration/configuration of the following network protocols: SMTP
  (Sendmail V7, V8.8-9, Postfix), MIME, POP3, IMAP4, Secure NFS/NIS,
  rcp/rdist/rsync, DNS (BIND V4, V8), DHCP, Radius, PPP/SLIP, TCP/IP,
  UDP/ICMP, HTTP (Apache, IIS), NAT/IPFW, NNTP/INND/DNEWS, and others. 
* Configuration/monitoring of the following security utilities: COPS,
  TRIPWIRE, SATAN, md5, tcpd/tcp wrappers. Also serve as active security
  auditor and perform basic host security, vulnerability assessment,
  firewall configuration/maintenance and policy development. 
* Experience with the following vendors: SUN, Cisco, 3Com/USR, Adtran, Nortel.

Support Services:

* Comprehensive experience in computer assistance, including technical
  support, software and hardware installations, personal computer
  maintenance, and repair. 
* Strong skill in articulating and communicating technical issues. 

Technical Training:

Nortel - CVX 1800 Installation and Maintenance (1998)
* Learned basic troubleshooting of the CVX-1800 on a live network
* Performed all commissioning tasks of the CVX-1800 

Cisco - 2500 Series Access Routers (1998)
* Installation/Maintenace of 2500-series 
* Configuration of 2500-series access routers in TCP/IP network 
* Routing of TCP/IP, and additional protocols 
* IOS 11.x 

Employment History:

SEI Data Network Services, Inc.
Systems/Network Administrator. Actively involved in installation,
configuration, administration, security and performance issues pertaining
to multi-user systems and networks (May 1997-Present).
