I saw posts reguarding this and was wondering if anyone has made any progress with this and if so what is the status? I Belive FreeBSD and the ForeRunner would make a gret solution for this kind of set up which Verison will be using for DSL here in Hawaii and abroad. Thanks in advance for any imput. Currently the simplest solution appears to be to try use ksocket and ng_bridge...However, I haven't had time to try it. I believe in -current someone mentioned adding netgraph support to HARP ATM stack, it'd also be a good option... I have thought about implementing this by adding a "bridge group" virtual interface to HARP. Multiple PVCs would attach to each bridge group, and the interface would talk to ether_input() and ether_output(). There would be special access lists for MAC and IP addresses. Unfortunately, this is just another fun project, and it may be a while before I have time to implement it. If you like the idea, get TCP/IP Illustrated, Vol 2. It is an excellent reference! It is almost a religious experience - read it just once, and you will be on fire to start coding :-) > I Belive FreeBSD and the ForeRunner would make a gret solution for > this kind of set up which Verison will be using for DSL here in Hawaii > and abroad. Agreed. Adding bridged encapsulation would instantly make FreeBSD a great solution for all the people that need to terminate bridged PVCs.
