I've put up a new version at which uses modified Monaco 9pt characters that were actually typed (and then munged slightly to fit the space). I think it looks a lot better. Now, I've been trying to think of how to get the beastie in there, or at least his horns (there's a lot of blank space at the bottom left). But I haven't worked that out yet.... Meanwhile, enjoy and please let me know if anyone particularly likes this, how far it spreads, etc.... -- Brad Knowles, H4sICIFgXzsCA2RtYS1zaWcAPVHLbsMwDDvXX0H0kkvbfxiwVw8FCmzAzqqj1F4dy7CdBfn7 Kc6wmyGRFEnvvxiWQoCvqI7RSWTcfGXQNqCUAnfIU+AT8OZ/GCNjRVlH0bKpguJkxiITZqes MxwpSucyDJzXxQEUe/ihgXqJXUXwD9ajB6NHonLmNrUSK9nacHQnH097szO74xFXqtlbT3il wMsBz5cnfCR5cEmci0Rj9u/jqBbPeES1I4PeFBXPUIT1XDSOuutFXylzrQvGyboWstCoQZyP dxX4dLx0eauFe1x9puhoi0Ao1omEJo+BZ6XLVNaVpWiKekxN0VK2VMpmAy+Bk7ZV4SO+p1L/ uErNRS/qH2iFU+iNOtbcmVt9N16lfF7tLv9FXNj8AiyNcOi1AQAA To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-chat Thu Aug 2 7:31: 1 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-chat@freebsd.org Received: from lists.unixathome.org (lists.unixathome.org [210.48.103.158]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6E39037B405 for ; Thu, 2 Aug 2001 07:30:58 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from dan@langille.org) Received: from wocker (lists.unixathome.org [210.48.103.158]) by lists.unixathome.org (8.11.1/8.11.1) with ESMTP id f72EUtt75064 for ; Fri, 3 Aug 2001 02:30:56 +1200 (NZST) (envelope-from dan@langille.org) Message-Id: <200108021430.f72EUtt75064@lists.unixathome.org> From: "Dan Langille" Organization: novice in training To: freebsd-chat@freebsd.org Date: Thu, 2 Aug 2001 10:30:51 -0400 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Subject: CableNet/Optus/Excite@Home reviewers wanted Reply-To: dan@langille.org X-mailer: Pegasus Mail for Win32 (v3.12c) Sender: owner-freebsd-chat@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org I have an article submitted by a CableNet/Optus/Excite@Home on getting a cable connection going. Which is actually a telling reflection of the Zeitgeist. Things change so fast and in such wildly unpredictable ways nowadays that preparing too much for -- or even attempting to anticipate -- the future can actually be frustrating and risky. I'm just not a good enough graphic artist to try to render the beastie myself, and the pictures I can find of him are low-contrast enough that it's very difficult for me to successfully convert them into B&W line-drawing/X-Face type graphics. Hopefully, someone else on the list can supply the necessary graphical talent, and we can combine that with the work I've already done, and the work that others have done, and put this sort of thing up for free and even provide a delivery mechanism. -- Brad Knowles, H4sICIFgXzsCA2RtYS1zaWcAPVHLbsMwDDvXX0H0kkvbfxiwVw8FCmzAzqqj1F4dy7CdBfn7 Kc6wmyGRFEnvvxiWQoCvqI7RSWTcfGXQNqCUAnfIU+AT8OZ/GCNjRVlH0bKpguJkxiITZqes MxwpSucyDJzXxQEUe/ihgXqJXUXwD9ajB6NHonLmNrUSK9nacHQnH097szO74xFXqtlbT3il wMsBz5cnfCR5cEmci0Rj9u/jqBbPeES1I4PeFBXPUIT1XDSOuutFXylzrQvGyboWstCoQZyP dxX4dLx0eauFe1x9puhoi0Ao1omEJo+BZ6XLVNaVpWiKekxN0VK2VMpmAy+Bk7ZV4SO+p1L/ uErNRS/qH2iFU+iNOtbcmVt9N16lfF7tLv9FXNj8AiyNcOi1AQAA To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-chat Fri Aug 3 7: 4: 0 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-chat@freebsd.org Received: from nothing-going-on.demon.co.uk (pc-62-31-42-140-hy.blueyonder.co.uk [62.31.42.140]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A5F3C37B407; Fri, 3 Aug 2001 07:03:45 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from nik@nothing-going-on.demon.co.uk) Received: (from nik@localhost) by nothing-going-on.demon.co.uk (8.11.3/8.11.3) id f72LEBj33394; Thu, 2 Aug 2001 22:14:11 +0100 (BST) (envelope-from nik) Date: Thu, 2 Aug 2001 22:14:10 +0100 From: Nik Clayton To: Ben Smithurst Cc: Kris Kirby , David Kelly , j mckitrick , freebsd-chat@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: funny experience - BSD related Message-ID: <20010802221410.E24850@canyon.nothing-going-on.org> References: <200108020211.f722BDx84399@grumpy.dyndns.org> <20010802125232.W47792@strontium.shef.vinosystems.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-md5; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="+SfteS7bOf3dGlBC" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.2.5i In-Reply-To: <20010802125232.W47792@strontium.shef.vinosystems.com>; from ben@FreeBSD.org on Thu, Aug 02, 2001 at 12:52:32PM +0100 Organization: FreeBSD Project Sender: owner-freebsd-chat@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org --+SfteS7bOf3dGlBC Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable On Thu, Aug 02, 2001 at 12:52:32PM +0100, Ben Smithurst wrote: > > That reminds me; I need to get off my duff and get my "Power By FreeBSD" > > bumper-sticker on the car. >=20 > Has anyone managed to get a "Powered by FreeBSD" logo into 72x14 pixels, > in monochrome?
