I have a tarball of old pre-8 oci libs here, however i am in desperate need of native oci8 libs. Is it an officially supported product or a just a 'leaked' tarball - and where do i get it? We had event sent machines to Oracle to make sure they'd get it working right, IIRC. It's out there *somewhere*. -- Jeremy D. I did see that in the archives. I'm not sure how man changes or additions to the OCI have occurred through 8.1.7. I guess for straight foward connections they should be fine. I like to run the full server so I use the Linux Version. I compile a Linux Perl and DBI/DBD::Oracle. Since this email was originally about DBD::Oracle, well it is in the subject line :-), I use DBD::Proxy on other FreeBSD servers, this only requires DBD::Oracle to be running on the server. So I don't need the Oracle Clients on the addtional severs and is quite fast...this could be an alternative solution.
