Basically there are 4 broken symlinks on the site right now, which ends up annoying me daily because I have scripts that go and make sure there are no broken symlinks on my archive (but since you have them, I have them). Here is the list: BOGUS: /pub/FreeBSD/ports/alpha/packages-5-current/Latest/imake.tgz BOGUS: /pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-2.2.8/japanese/ja-handbook-2.2.7.tgz BOGUS: /pub/FreeBSD/branches/-current/XF86333 BOGUS: /pub/FreeBSD/branches/2.2-stable/ctm The third link isn't actually broken on the main site, however it is a link to ../../../../pub/XFree86/3.3.3.1/binaries/FreeBSD-3.0 which means every mirror site has this as a broken link unless they also happen to have a pub/XFree86/ directory, which I am assuming most do not. There should be an actual copy of the directory if it is actually required there so that all mirrors have the same thing. Any interest in having an extra mirror site? I've got an almost complete mirror (I just exclude some of the older ports sections, I've got everything else...). I run a kernel hacking class using FreeBSD so I'll continue mirroring everything regardless because I need a fair chunk of it but I figured this might be a way I can contribute back to you folks as a thanks for distributing something I can base the class on. :-) Our FTP site is also an official mirror for RedHat and GNOME. I'm unofficially mirroring a bunch of other related stuff (OpenBSD, couple other Linux distributions, and Apache...). It's at "ftp://ftp.cse.buffalo.edu/pub/FreeBSD" if you're interested. Contact would be "webmaster@cse.buffalo.edu". You could use us to replace ftp7.freebsd.org, they seem to have disappeared on you. ;-) ken To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message
