When the link came up, ppp was temporarily removing then adding the interface address and the kernel was nuking the default route from the routing table as a result. The very latest version of ppp does this right now. As a workaround use add! default HISADDR instead of using static addresses. As a result, this becomes a ``sticky route'' (see ``show ipcp'' and ppp(8)) and is reapplied after the link comes up. This is usually better anyway as it deals with dynamic IP numbers properly too. > -- > Luc OTTAVJ - UDcast Sophia-Antipolis,France - Luc.Ottavj@udcast.com > Office:+33 (0)493001678 - Mobile:+33 (0)614215613 - Fax:+33 (0)493001661 > Where IP and UniDirectional links meet http://www.udcast.com -- Brian Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour !
