Currently I plan to use only TCP/IP over ATM and I dont even imagine what applications would support native ATM. Of interest is also information on TCP/IP bugs/missing features over ATM... such as: is it possible to use ATM interface with IPFILTER, etc. TIA Lauri To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-atm" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-atm Mon Nov 18 17:34:50 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-atm@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 35B7937B401 for ; Mon, 18 Nov 2002 17:34:49 -0800 (PST) Received: from mel-rto6.wanadoo.fr (smtp-out-6.wanadoo.fr [193.252.19.25]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4201543EAA for ; Mon, 18 Nov 2002 17:34:48 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from vjardin@wanadoo.fr) Received: from mel-rta9.wanadoo.fr (193.252.19.69) by mel-rto6.wanadoo.fr (6.5.007) id 3DA24D4D018A95EE; Tue, 19 Nov 2002 02:34:40 +0100 Received: from there (80.11.204.203) by mel-rta9.wanadoo.fr (6.5.007) id 3DD3EB760023D7B1; Tue, 19 Nov 2002 02:34:40 +0100 Message-ID: <3DD3EB760023D7B1@mel-rta9.wanadoo.fr> (added by postmaster@wanadoo.fr) Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" From: Vincent Jardin To: "Lauri Laupmaa" , atm@freebsd.org Subject: Re: good/stable card for -STABLE Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 02:51:59 +0100 X-Mailer: KMail [version 1.3.2] References: <3DD82998.28604.7BEF36B@localhost> In-Reply-To: <3DD82998.28604.7BEF36B@localhost> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Sender: owner-freebsd-atm@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org A French company is selling some good cheap ATM boards http://www.prosum.fr/atm155_E.html The FreeBSD driver should be ready next-month. Today we have evaluated the board on FreeBSD 4.5, it works pretty well. It remains some bugs with the support of the ATM QoS (UBR and CBR), however it should be fixed when Prosum will publishe its driver (I hope they would do ;-) ). According to me, it would be the lonly ATM HW that is not deprecated (like the IDT 77211 or the Fore's boards) and that supports ATM QoS with the HARP stack.
