Face it, there's no way you're going to extract 400 million email addresses with some flimsy email extractor program you downloaded from the web. You're lucky if you can extract 2 million in a year! Our email addresses are even targeted in 34 different categories to help you reach only the market you want. No need to buy any more directories from the web. We've bought almost all of them for you, cleaned them up including removal of duplicates and flamers, and compiled them into a 4 disk volume for only $139.00 Now you can send emails to millions of people worldwide. Imagine if only a small number out of even 1 million emails sent responded to your email. Don't you think you'd make something out of that? No need to worry if our email addresses will work with your mailing program. We already thought of that and made sure to save all files as text files. Text files are the most universal types of files so they will import easily. Also, there's no limit to how many times you can use our email addresses. Still have more specific questions? It was a suggestion made on this list by an Australian mirror operator and we apparantly liked the idea enough to implement it. Other platforms will have the same naming scheme. To me the immediate consequence was that there was no need for a 5.0-RC2 subdirectory under ISO-IMAGES, because the release name was already in the ISO file name. I'm not sure if the same is done for the other platforms. Basicly because we haven't discussed this. If there's an inconsistency among platforms, we'll resolve it. Being the first I took the liberty to set a possible standard. It is even possible that move ISO-IMAGES up one directory so that it is shared between platforms because we also have the platform in the ISO file name. This is speculation... This is speculation... it's possible. but again, it's probably better overall that it's "inside" an architecture tree because a number of mirrors will only carry certain architectures and this means they can exclude ia64 or alpha or pc98 much more easily. i think the main thing is having that consistency that has been developing with FreeBSD mirror layout over the last few years and applying it across all the platforms uniformly (e.g iso images, package trees, release trees, etc) regards, -jason To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Fri Dec 20 21:42:18 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4AC3C37B401; Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:17 -0800 (PST) Received: from kayak.xcllnt.net (209-128-86-226.BAYAREA.NET [209.128.86.226]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8C79E43EDE; Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:16 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from marcel@xcllnt.net) Received: from athlon.pn.xcllnt.net (athlon.pn.xcllnt.net [192.168.4.3]) by kayak.xcllnt.net (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id gBL5g6rT091946; Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:06 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from marcel@kayak.pn.xcllnt.net) Received: from athlon.pn.xcllnt.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by athlon.pn.xcllnt.net (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id gBL5g6JK001694; Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:06 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from marcel@athlon.pn.xcllnt.net) Received: (from marcel@localhost) by athlon.pn.xcllnt.net (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id gBL5g6OO001693; Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:06 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from marcel) Date: Fri, 20 Dec 2002 21:42:06 -0800 From: Marcel Moolenaar To: jason andrade Cc: Olafur Osvaldsson , hubs@FreeBSD.ORG, re@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: ia64 5.0-RC2 available Message-ID: <20021221054206.GA1682@athlon.pn.xcllnt.net> References: <20021221051319.GC1442@athlon.pn.xcllnt.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.1i Sender: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org On Sat, Dec 21, 2002 at 03:26:42PM +1000, jason andrade wrote: > > > > > > Why don't you use the same format for the iso dir as usual? > > > > > > .../releases/ia64/ISO-IMAGES/5.0-RC2/CHECKSUM.MD5 > > > .../releases/ia64/ISO-IMAGES/5.0-RC2/disc2.iso > > > .../releases/ia64/ISO-IMAGES/5.0-RC2/miniinst.iso > > > > Our release process has changed to create the new names.
